About the role
Udemy seeks to be the primary destination for the world’s best instructors to teach millions of global learners the skills needed to thrive in the future.  As a Senior Director of Product Management for Instructor and Supply, you will oversee the product strategy to help thousands of instructors create and manage their courses on Udemy, Udemy for Business, and Udemy for Government.  
You will be product lead for our instructor, supply and content strategies.  As such, you will set the product direction and negotiate priorities across various areas.  Our instructors are passionate, creative entrepreneurs who want to share their expertise with the world. Your mission will be to enable them to create high quality content and support their students throughout the learning journey through new features, tools, and dashboards.   Specifically, we want to create the future learning experiences needed to go deep in professional skills.  

What you'll be doing:

  • Formulate the Product vision to drive competitive advantage and maintain and grow market share of the instructor and creator global community Creating and managing a process that drives toward a scalable product portfolio. Solve problems for the learners and instructors
  • Leading the  performance of various product analyses such as gap analysis in an effort to establish product differentiation and execution strategies that will lead to the product’s ultimate success while taking into account cost, utility, and timelines for product implementations
  • Acting as the lead evangelist for our supply strategy from a product perspective.  Define long term product strategy
  • Driving the development of product roadmaps and deliver product enhancements that assist organizations in driving learning and help employees develop new skills
  • Partnering with Marketing, Customer Success, Content Team, Learning Science
  • Driving thinking and execution on product line extension into new product areas

We’re excited because you will have:

  • Experience building and leading a motivated, high performing team to successfully deliver and execute on an ambitious product roadmap.
  • A tremendous drive to innovate, bring an entrepreneurial spirit, and have the ability and desire to have a real impact on Udemy.
  • 7+ years in Product Management with experience in a marketplace model
  • A great track record of building consumer-grade product experience through partnering with supplies or creators at scale 
  • The ability to ship great products.  Flat out.  You think about what the customer says they care about, what they actually need, and create amazing product to meet those needs
  • The ability to hire extremely well and can manage and mentor; some of the people you’ve mentored are now running product at other organizations
  • The readiness to change the world...and have a ‘vertical’ moment in your career
