About the role:
We're looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our Singapore tax team in Melbourne! Xero is a market leader in the small business accounting software market and committed to deliver various digital tax products in Singapore.
As part of the Singapore tax team, you will be working with the core product team developing beautiful income and sales tax products for our small businesses, accountants and bookkeepers in Singapore. You`ll be responsible for executing product vision, strategy and roadmap.
You will work alongside a talented cross-functional pod consisting of engineers, data analysts, designers and business analysts. Your skillful product leadership and management of the pod’s backlog enables the pod to deliver compelling products and services that solve real problems for our customers.
What you'll do:
- You’ll work with leadership teams, product teams, data teams, engineering, and customers to form a deep understanding of customer problems and potential solutions.
- Be part of a cross-functional forward-thinking product team and work with customers, our dev teams and other stakeholders to deeper understand the problems we’re solving
- Document findings into specifications, user stories, and similar artifacts that will be used as the foundation of product development
- Use your prioritisation skills to make the right calls on what needs to be addressed when and how value can be delivered as early as possible
- You’ll use your great research, analysis and decision making skills to juggle the wide range of opportunities, into an achievable outcome focused roadmap
- You’ll lead a team of peers during the course of development to define milestones and ensure on time and in-scope delivery
- Develop your Agile mindset to lead a team of peers to develop features that deliver to business outcomes while ensuring there's a shared understanding of the value they bring to customers
- Effectively manage communication during the release of solutions and beforehand with key stakeholders on development progress, scope and any roadblocks.
- You’ll ensure development teams are clear about why features are prioritised and that they are motivated to build beautiful communication experiences for Xero’s customers
- You’ll be a champion for the customer by collaborating with the product design team to develop user stories, wireframes, and workflows that solve real problems for our customers
What you'll bring with you:
- Excellent Product Owner experience, ideally in a Saas environment.
- Proven experience championing strategic priorities and helping others relate to and align with it.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills. Proven experience building meaningful, collaborative relationships across all levels of the business.
- Proven ability to create clarity for an engineering team — with an organised work style that is structured, rigorous and consistent.
- The ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholder groups Analytical, evaluative and problem solving abilities
- A solid track record of addressing customer needs through the use of technology Hands on experience with Agile processes and principles
