We are looking for a strong Techno-Functional Product Owner for Procurement systems to join the FinTech Team. You will develop, drive, and create system advances for Procure to Pay processes in accordance with industry Best Practices and the needs of individual Finance and Procurement teams. This position will partner with our Procure-Pay Business lead and their operations team, technology pillars on Enterprise Technology and third-party vendors to execute on key objectives and strategy for procure to pay processes.

The Enterprise Technology team is responsible for delivering scalable efficient processes, infrastructure, applications technology and data insights that help Asana achieve its mission. We partner across the company to drive transformations that result in growing our business, organizational effectiveness and efficiency. As a Product Owner for Procurement Systems, you’ll provide functional and technical expertise, be responsible for system design decisions for the team, build solutions and features that scale and deliver long-term value for our Finance teams. 

You will have strong business acumen, data and technology experience in addition to possessing excellent strategy, business partnering and collaboration skills. You take the initiative to identify high impact projects and work cross functionally to execute and realize Asana’s business strategy.  In this role you are overseeing a mission-critical part of the company, responsible for scaling our procurement systems and processes by partnering across the company. 




What you’ll achieve

  • Design, architect and continuously enhance Procure to Pay related processes in Coupa and other adjacent applications like Expensify, Tripactions and future applications like Concur
  • Lead requirements workshops to translate business requirements into innovative and built for purpose solutions. 
  • Create accurate and clear Functional/Technical documentation; develop support processes and procedures; and support hand-off to peers/organizational units
  • Ensure that Coupa remains operational as per defined internal SLAs. Have expert skills in triaging and troubleshooting issues for quick resolution.
  • Possess Coupa administrator-level knowledge 
  • Manages multiple streams of work, actively communicating progress, roadblocks, and next steps, as well as follows best practices for testing, development, deployment, and implementation.
  • Partner with the cross functional teams including Finance and Accounting, Internal Audit & Compliance to drive business value with automations and streamlining Procure to Pay related processes
  • Act as an owner and ultimate escalation point for the systems you build and maintain
  • Ensure the highest level of data accuracy and compliance in financial systems as per SoX guidelines and internal/external audit requirements
  • Partner with Internal Audit and Compliance teams on driving SoX compliance, helping with SoD analysis, ITGC, role design and compliance reporting
  • Stay on top of system upgrades, understands new feature releases, determine impact on Asana’s processes, configurations, and customizations and recommend a path to implementation minimizing disruption
  • Manage relationship with our SaaS vendor customer support to resolve production issues or with external consulting / professional services teams to design and implement system changes
  • Use strong technical and business acumen to manage risk and escalate impediments through a defined process for faster decision making

About you

  • Preferably a BS/BA degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or CPA or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years experience hands on experience implementing and supporting Coupa or related systems like Ariba 
  • Expert knowledge of Procure to Pay Processes (focus on Indirect Procurement)
  • Copua Certification preferred
  • Strong Experience with CoupaPay and Coupa Analytics
  • Solid understanding and experience integrating Coupa with NetSuite and Vertex
  • Any exposure to Supplier & Contract Lifecycle Management processes & tools will be an added plus (Example: IronClad)
  • Experience with Concur would be a plus
  • You are highly collaborative and can operate with cross functional teams like Finance, Accounting, Sales, Product Engineering and others to improve the core Finance processes for Procure to Pay 
  • You are an expert problem solver and have the ability to identify, find creative solutions and resolve problems proactively

  • Good understanding of the project lifecycle; ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment without being dogmatic. Knowledge of agile-aligned methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, Lean-Agile, etc.)
