We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our Invoicing team.
About the role:
The Invoicing team’s mission is to help small businesses save time and improve cash flow. We aim to give small businesses time back to focus on running their business, and enjoying their life, by automating the hard stuff and making administration easy. Our products help businesses around the world get paid on time.
This is a critical time for the Invoicing team and Xero. We’re looking for a Product Owner who will play an important role in executing one of Xero’s top three strategic priorities. This initiative spans multiple product groups across Xero, is complex and critical for Invoices and Xero to execute well.
As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for partnering your engineering team to execute the product vision, strategy and roadmap. You will help the pod strike a balance between delivering at pace and ensuring we maintain an excellent customer experience.
You’ll ensure product, design and engineering are considered side-by-side. You will make sure the boundaries of your products (what the pod owns and what they don’t) are articulated and understood inside and outside of the pod. You’ll be working with a number of internal teams, sometimes to accelerate their development work, other times to create components and tools to help us all move faster.
Product development is a team sport at Xero and you’ll find that our teams are well resourced and supported to deliver beautiful software.
What you’ll need to be successful in this role:
- Experience as a product owner, in a software or product environment ( other comparable technical environments will also be considered )
- You're a natural motivator who thrives off championing your product team
- You’re great at articulating ideas to both technical and non technical areas of the business
- You have the ability to break down complex problems, deliver real-world business outcomes and set priorities in a high change environment
- You’re diplomatic and great at building strong and meaningful relationships
- Have a passion for understanding and empathising with our customers
- You will be working with Data to ensure its use for prioritisation and making decisions to direct the team
