Job Description

The Digital Product Development Initiatives function is responsible for creating and building world digital acceptance solutions for deployment across Europe. This role will be responsible for gathering and analysing business requirements and supporting development teams evaluate and prioritise backlogs. This may include:

  • Supporting the development of the product strategy, go-to-market plans, and product design documents
  • Defining and maintaining the Digital product roadmap and vision in-line with portfolio strategic objectives and themes
  • Building, prioritising and maintaining program backlogs
  • Evaluating and providing updates on product roadmap delivery progress
  • Coordinating and supporting other Product Owners and providing ongoing guidance and knowledge transfer to less tenured Product Owners

What we expect of you, day to day.

This is an individual contributor role, there are no direct reports to it.

This position requires an experienced Product Owner with deep payments experience and a proven ability to:

  • Lead multiple product development work streams across the business from a Product ownership perspective
  • Direct and support a team of business analysts, developers and test resources with support of a Scrum Master
  • Work with key business stakeholders to elicit, analyse, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, information and systems to achieve final technology/business solution.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand the business objectives and translate these into requirements to support the product roadmap.
  • Ensure the Product Backlog is defined, transparent, and clear to all, including dependencies and priorities based on the Product overall strategy.
  • Assist with the elaboration of Epics, Themes and Features into user stories that are granular enough to be passed to the development teams, and shaped to deliver optimum business value into a sprint cycle.
  • Support testing, training, and implementation activities, identify and document emerging business requirements to ensure the successful delivery of the overall business and technology solutions.
  • Facilitate in providing estimates for user stories, bug fixes, etc.
  • Attend and actively participate in agile ceremonies.
  • Evaluate stakeholder feedback and work with other Product Owners and Product Managers to address concerns and identify opportunities for improvement and enhancement
  • Ensure continuous improvement across the product portfolio with a focus on client and customer experience
  • Support the development process for product enhancements, including the evaluation of new products including collation of business requirements to define the features
  • Participate in feature prioritisation: Present the vision to the teams, highlight any upcoming milestones, and approve prioritised quarterly objectives
  • Create release plans and maintain continuous release calendar
  • Work with relevant teams including IT, Operations and readiness teams to ensure product features and services are successfully launched to customers (either internal or external)
  • Accept individual features as “done” by ensuring they meet the acceptance criteria and has sufficient acceptance tests
  • Support Product Managers in defining KPIs and related performance reporting
  • Work with Product Managers to support any key improvement activities to increase efficiency and throughput

Qualifications

  • You have 4+ years in a product ownership or scrum master in an agile team within the payments industry preferably ecommerce card payments for online/omni-channel/in-app merchants.

  • You are a problem solver at heart and strive towards goals in face of adversity. You have mastered the ability to drive top-down hypothesis driven problem understanding and decision making.

  • You put consumers at the heart of everything you do, and make decisions based on end-outcomes for our clients.
  • You are ready to adapt based on new information and support team decisions; you readily integrate changes into work processes with good outcomes.
  • You have great intellectual ability, attention to detail and have the ability to influence, negotiate and drive results.
  • You are open to feedback, able to deal with ambiguity and work on concurrent projects with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Proven experience working within an Agile methodology environment (e.g. SCRUM, DSDM, Lean/Kanban).
  • Excellent technical understanding of web applications and APIs.
  • Working experience in using Jira / Jira Align
