Product Owner

Responsibilities

• Own the end to end delivery of a set of features and capabilities for the 10x platform.
  
• As Product Owner for your feature team(s) work collaboratively to deliver working software through a well managed and prioritised backlog. Ensuring appropriate quality is maintained in achieving definition of ready and definition of done for your teams work.
• Establish a comprehensive core capability for the 10x proposition, that is compliant against today’s banking environment, while being sufficiently flexible to accommodate the needs of our clients in the future.
• Develop a clear, pragmatic and prioritised product backlog for your features utilising the 10x 3-2-1 design methodology to break these down into epics and user stories.
• Work with your own feature team and dependent feature teams to deliver working software, managing sequencing and dependencies across the organisation and with associated 3rd Parties.
• Collaborate with other product owners, analysts and principal engineers across the business to ensure coherent design of your features utilising a variety of analysis techniques and deliverables.
• Document technical user stories and acceptance criteria for your feature team and allocated features to your 10x product domain.
• Manage the appropriate scope descriptions, workflow status and release planning for your features, epics and user stories.
• Become the Subject Matter Expert within your domain with the ability to present the 10x solution to a wide range of audiences, from technical to business managers; from our engineering team to our customer’s digital banking executives; internally and externally to the business.
• Form part of the team to provide a continuous live service to our clients
• Line management of business analyst(s) to coach and develop their capability and manage their performance.(applicable to specific roles)

Requirements

Domain Expertise

This role will encompass all the attributes aligned to the Product Lead skill-set, however the successful candidate will possess a background that enables the successful delivery of the 10x Payment Product Area.

Key domain level attributes are:

• Proven experience of payment systems and their implementation with design and delivery of technical capabilities across transactional processing, settlement and reconciliation
• Implementation experience in financial services (ideally consumer and commercial banking)
• Exposure to micro-service platform architectures and ability to work with and understand technical specifications i.e. API Contracts, Back-end services, SDK’s
• Product Management (P&L, billing or monetisation) an advantage.
• Digital product development, data and technical experience through the agile development lifecycle, preferably aligned to retail banking

Ideally you will also have….

• Minimum of 3 years in Product Owner/Analysis roles.
• Track record of successful delivery in Financial Services environment or relevant industry to domain.

• In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies & disciplines.
• Payment scheme processing and message formats/mapping

• Experience in technical analysis a significant advantage including api specification and data modelling.

• Demonstrable high levels of integrity and desire to make a positive impact within the business and society.
• An enthusiastic self-starter who looks for new ways of working, explores best practices and delivers imaginative approaches to communication challenges.

• An enthusiastic team player excited by the prospect of being a key member of a financial services technology firm that is working to transform the industry.

• Experience working collaboratively in a cross functional team.

• Ability to rapidly assimilate complex functional and technical requirements.
• Experience in dynamic, digital, entrepreneurial businesses.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and comfortable working with and coaching, in-house and off-shore teams.

• Operate effectively in matrix organisation.

• Leadership of small teams.
