We are looking for team members who love product-building, want to work hard at a mission-oriented startup, and will collaborate with us in shaping the culture of a growing team.

We have offices in San Francisco, New York and London and remote team members across the US and Europe. We hope that you'll be interested in joining us!

The role

To achieve their ambitious climate goals, customers need Watershed software to deliver critical insights and workflows to power their sustainability programs. Our engineering, product, and design teams have been hard at work delivering experiences to meet customer’s most pressing needs, and we are excited to uplevel the way we plan, build, and release product to deliver even more impact, more efficiently. This Product Ops role will lead the charge - as the first functional hire, this individual will be responsible for setting a vision for excellence in product operations, and defining new product development and go-to-market collaboration processes.

You will:

  • Establish a vision for product operations at Watershed
    • Gather pain points & insights from cross-functional stakeholders
    • Bring an opinion & playbooks for “best in class” product operations
    • Take the function from 0→1, evangelizing & iterating along the way
  • Build a bridge between GTM and Engineering, Product & Design
    • Design and manage GTM product feedback loop
      • Manage GTM input and feedback on the product strategy & roadmap
      • Up-level product feedback collection & triage process
    • Streamline our launch process, from product planning to customer communication
      • Architect the process & implement tools required to manage
      • Empower cross functional partners to play their part
  • Mature our Engineering, Product & Design operating system
    • Design and manage Engineering, Product & Design planning cadence
    • Design and manage a process for internal and external roadmap artifacts
    • Collaborate with product leadership on product review cadence
    • Collaborate with product leadership on a process to reconcile inter-team dependencies

You might be a fit if you:

  • Have 5+ experience in B2B software, with relevant product ops experience - you’ve seen this story before, have a playbook, and can hit the ground running on day one.
  • Have strong influence skills - you can balance input from a multitude of cross-functional stakeholders, handle complex change management, and inspire new behaviors at both the IC and leadership level.
  • Are a strong executor - you are willing to roll up your sleeves and get scrappy, can build or manage processes yourself to prove their value.
  • You understand product development - you know what it takes to build great enterprise products, are fluent in product thinking and execution, and have a solid understanding of release management
  • You have deep empathy for go to market teams - you’ve got a track record of building great relationships between Engineering, Product & Design and GTM teams, and bonus if you’ve worked in a sales or success oriented role in the past.

The anticipated salary range is in addition to a total rewards benefit package including equity, health/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), unlimited paid time off, paid parental leave, fertility, and mental health programs etc.

FAQ

Where does Watershed work?

We have hub offices in San Francisco, New York and London, and some remote team members in the US and EU. Most of our jobs need to be in San Francisco / New York / London, but certain jobs are open to being remote and will be specifically noted on the jobs page and in the job description.

What’s the interview process like?

It starts the same for every candidate: getting to know the team members through 1 to 2 conversations about Watershed, your experience, and your interests. Next steps can vary by role, but usual next steps are a skill or experience screen (e.g. a coding interview for an engineer, a portfolio review for a designer, deeper experience call for other roles) which leads to a virtual or in person interview panel after that if the screens go well. We prioritize transparency and lack of surprise throughout the process.
