At Standard AI, we’re revolutionizing the way the world shops. By replacing cash registers with computer vision-powered checkout, we’re creating a frictionless experience for shoppers. Since launching in 2017, Standard has contracts with multiple global retailers and is in the process of deploying our Standard Checkout solution across thousands of stores globally. We’re backed by some of Silicon Valley’s leading investors including SoftBank, CRV, Initialized, EQT, Draper Associates, and Y Combinator. We announced our Series C in February 2021!

As a Product Operations Specialist, you’ll be an essential part of our daily operations at client sites and be responsible for maintaining and improving operational efficiency. You’ll work with product managers, engineers, data analysts, and external vendors to help identify where our efforts are best directed and develop a clear understanding of our limitations as well as opportunities for growth. At a core level, you’ll be an expert in all operational details and manage product workflows, analyze accuracy metrics and individual shopping trips, and build larger data sets for comprehensive understanding of our product operations. With insight gathered from daily operations, you’ll be providing key information to understand where sources of errors originate and what factors external to our processes may be impacting performance.

The results of your work will impact a number of projects across many teams such as adjustment of our operational processes, direction and development of in-house tooling, and a growing understanding of how we define the limits of our system as a whole - and ultimately surpass them. They will inform both highly specific, granular efforts like tackling receipt errors to improve accuracy as well as larger initiatives such as what shopping behavior merits machine learning development and how it impacts the scope of our product over time.

This is a remote full-time position based in the U.S.

What you'll do here:

  • Oversee daily operations at client sites and manage external vendors.

  • Manage product workflows for operational efficiency and ensure alignment between internal and external teams.

  • Deep dive (analyze at a granular level with all pertinent information available to you) accuracy metrics and individual shopper visits to identify sources of error, key details, contextual information, and areas for improvement.

  • Report on trends revealed through the above efforts and implement strategic steps to address root causes.

  • Contribute to feedback and discussion around findings to further refine the scope of our product operations and the deep dive process.

  • Gather operational insight and surface user feedback to improve processes, tooling, and product definition as we scale.

Who you are:

  • You have experience working in operations, quality assurance, or other related fields/roles.

  • You have a keen, consistent attention to detail and can work on the same task for much of the day while staying focused and performing high quality work at a consistent pace.

  • You take pride in your analytical and critical thinking skills - you’re able to look at raw data and make inferences and draw conclusions. You’re not afraid to dig deep to get to the root of a problem.

  • You’re adaptable and flexible - a quick learner who can adapt to changing requirements or methods in processes.

  • You’re proactive and can think on your feet - you can clearly see next steps and take them.

  • You enjoy a high level of autonomy in your work and can work without much instruction.

  • You’re process-driven and can easily identify holes and missing links in processes.

  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills - you can communicate complex processes using clear, simple language.

  • You value accountability and follow-through.

Why you might want to work with us:

  • We take care of you and your family with health, vision, and dental insurance.

  • You will have the option to contribute to a 401k.

  • You're excited to work on a product that will impact almost any consumer, almost anywhere.

  • Standard is a remote-first company. We trust you to get your job done in the location that works best for you.

  • We dress casually. Some of us wear slippers in the office. In current work-from-home standings, we’re super comfy.

  • We believe in a culture of learning, and want to keep building our skills, experiences, and capabilities.

  • We offer flexible work schedules. We trust our team to know how they will do their best work.

  • We're family-friendly. We want our teammates to focus on what they need to do when they need to do it.

  • We offer very competitive compensation, including equity in Standard, to every one of our employees.

Standard provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
