Product Operations Manager - Reconciliation

We’re looking for a Product Operations Manager - Reconciliation to join our PayOps Team to oversee the flows of funds involved in the business and to make sure our organization remains compliant with regulatory safeguarding standards. 

You’ll play a key role in driving the design of processes, procedures, controls and tools. This role sits within the EU Markets Tribe, which is responsible for supporting SumUp’s core products and services and enabling sustainable growth and development in our European markets. 

Within the Tribe, you’ll join the Operations team, whose mission is to sustain operational excellence and ensure we are set up for success to keep enabling our Merchants to thrive, and to set the standards for the entire SumUp ecosystem.

What you'll do

  • Support the daily reconciliation and ensure consistent improvements, from implementing small spreadsheet automations or data sources streamlining to design new product features dedicated to the reconciliation routines.
  • Work closely with Compliance, Finance and the Bank Tribe to ensure all reconciliation processes, flows of funds and procedures are fully adhered to and executed within regulatory guidelines for all jurisdictions SumUp operates.
  • Manage liquidity levels, pushing internal negotiations and leading company-level strategies to ensure cash availability to cover the banking services settlements obligations.
  • To understand regulatory and operational requirements and ensure reconciliation processes and flow(s) of funds are fully in place for new product launches.
  • Manage internal and external reporting routines (regulators, schemes and other partners) and support forecasting routines.
  • Benchmark the financial industry best practices to build and manage a long-term roadmap of strategic improvements of the reconciliation function.

You’ll be great for this role if

  • You have worked within a financial services institution role under a reconciliation function (3+ years of experience preferably).
  • You are literate in the Agile framework, having worked along with Product teams in several product development cycles.
  • You know your way around reconciliation tools and have a general understanding of accounting concepts and principles.
  • You are a master at handling and structuring massive amounts of data.
  • You have excellent Excel skills, including VBA programming (SQL is a plus).
  • You enjoy and perform well working with autonomy.
  • You are fluent in English and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
