TripAdvisor is hiring a Product Marketing Manager for our Cruise Critic site, the world’s largest cruise reviews website and a subsidiary of TripAdvisor, Inc. This is a high-impact and highly visible role within the Cruise Critic organization and reports directing to the Senior Manager, Performance & Acquisition Marketing. The ideal candidate is eager to be part of a high performing marketing team and cross functional organization to deliver high impact, go to market activations. He/she thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment, has a passion for customer centric product marketing and has an excellent understanding of integrated campaign management.
What you’ll do:
This person will work cross-functionally with the product and sales team, along with other marketing members, to develop the externally facing materials of launching new products for the site. In addition, they will evaluate current sponsored placements on an ongoing basis with a focus on continued evolution. They will lead internal strategy around product launches through collaboration with all teams. This role will be instrumental in fully integrated efforts to develop greater understanding of our audiences and to help deliver effectively against them with new and existing products.
The key areas of responsibility include:
- Conduct market research to build an understanding of the market, analyze competitors and potential customers, and identify trends.
- Developing user and buyer personas.
- Work with the product and marketing teams to create materials that highlight product features and benefits. Materials would be used for marketing promotion and sales support.
- Developing the go-to-market strategy for new product launches. This would include developing value propositions across multiple audience sets. Ensure products are messaged consistently and flex to meet multiple audience needs
- Development of Sales material as well as training/aiding the sales teams on articulating the products’ benefits to prospects.
- Working with product management to define goals and metrics for product launches
- In collaboration with Sales and Product, develop new sponsored products as well as ideate on existing product evolution to drive account expansion
- In collaboration with Design, maintain the brand guidelines and asset management to ensure the brand is consistently represented across the organization, with an emphasis on marketing and partner efforts.
- Be the expert on the customer: Use internal knowledge and third-party data to understand customer needs, barriers and journey and build personas that can be shared/utilized throughout the organization.
- Drive competitive research strategy & socialize learnings to broader organization.
Skills and Experience:
We’re looking for someone who’s analytical, proactive, strategic, not afraid to speak up, and who’s ready to lead audience development/traffic acquisition for our growing businesses.
- Bachelors’ degree in Marketing, Business or related field
- 5 years of experience within a marketing organization, with a focus on product marketing.
- Proven ability to work with a sales organization and identify/build collateral (demo decks, one-pagers, etc.) that meet team go-to-market needs while also capturing more revenue
- Demonstrable knowledge of designing a segmented/targeted communications program
- Knowledge of project management skills
- Proficiency in prioritizing and multitasking in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Strong cross-team collaboration and relationship-building skills required
- Experience analyzing a competitive landscape and identifying points of product differentiation
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills required
- Ability to embrace & drive change - test and learn culture!
- Bachelor’s degree required.
