We have raised over $35 million from a16z (Series A), Sequoia (Seed), and other great investors.

We are currently 15-20 people based primarily in NYC (just west of SoHo) and looking to grow to ~70 in NYC over the next 3 years.

Role

You will lead product marketing for Stainless, including our first two products: the SDK generator and API Docs, for customers ranging from open source hobbyists to some of the most sophisticated API companies, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Cloudflare.

This is a unique opportunity to build and lead the marketing function from the ground up at a high-growth startup. You'll play a critical role in how we message and capture value within the developer community and beyond. This role reports to the CEO and is onsite at our office in Manhattan.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day, you will:

• Hold our bar as editor-in-chief for every word that’s messaged to our customers.

• Build a strong and authentic brand for Stainless within the developer community.

• Act as the product manager for developer content with our technical writers.

• Build deep empathy for our customers and amplify their voice in everything we do.

• Provide sales enablement support to our account executives and customer engineers.

• Communicate product & feature launches internally and externally.

• Lead initiatives on pricing and packaging strategies.

• Help source, interview, and close some of the best GTM team members you’ve ever worked with.

Profile

You might be a good fit for this role if:

• You have marketed technical products that developers love.

• You can tackle a basic API integration yourself.

  • Alternatively, you have professional or hobbyist experience as a software developer.

• You are a deft storyteller who finds enjoyment in finding the smallest number of words that can express a complex idea without loss of fidelity (fix this one?).

• You’re hands-on: you love rolling up your sleeve, learning new things, accomplishing something you have never thought of doing before; every day.

• You thrive in a highly collaborative environment: you like to brainstorm on an early draft of your work and bring others along.

• You are able to operate fluidly between the strategic thinking and the micro-level to get things right.
