Role Description

This dynamic and highly-collaborative, cross-functional team works to enhance the current customer experience while also launching and bringing new, intelligent experiences to life. Our goal is to help customers find their content easily and quickly so they spend less time searching, browsing, switching between platforms, and creating and maintaining manual systems; and more time effectively completing work. 
As a Product Marketing Manager on the Dropbox Core team, you will partner with Marketing and Product teams to drive growth for our customer-centric products and solutions in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. The team’s mission is to translate deep customer empathy and insights into compelling marketing that drives tangible business results. You will fill a critical role on the team, leading high-priority initiatives from product development through launch and the entire product lifecycle
  • Build. Deeply understand the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to our business, products, and solutions. Leverage customer and competitive insights to craft effective messaging, positioning, and assets for feature development and launches.
  • Launch. Bring products to market that prove our unique value, vision and leadership by partnering with cross-functional teams to expand customer reach and awareness. Deliver best-in-class product education and communications that bridge the gap between product development and customer experience.
  • Grow. Develop messaging that demonstrates deep audience understanding to effectively sell solutions, continuing to advocate for our customers. 
At Dropbox, roduct Marketing Managers represent the customer voice and strive to create the ideal journey that meets customer needs and expectations. The ideal candidate has the ability not only to leverage customer insights to build and execute a solid marketing strategy but also to work cross-functionally, communicating regularly with other marketing teams and functions (including but not limited to Product, Brand, and Design).

Responsibilities

  • Customer and Product Expertise: Become the subject-matter-expert on our target audience, creating segmentation frameworks, prioritizing key jobs-to-be-done for the customer, and grounding strategic decisions in customer insights. Ensure there is tight alignment between customer needs and product solutions by also deeply understanding the product experience. 
  • Positioning, Messaging, and Naming: Craft insights-backed product positioning and messaging that serves as the keystone for internal and external launch assets, marketing programs, web copy, presentations and more. Lean into key differentiators and value drivers to drive distinctive messaging for a range of target audience segments (consumers to businesses). 
  • Research: Partner with internal teams to drive qualitative and quantitative research to better understand our customers and competitors, and develop clear recommendations based on that research.
  • Launch Planning: Play a key role in launching new features or deprecating features that are not delivering value to customers. Partner on pricing and packaging research and strategy and pre-launch experiment strategy. Execute full-funnel go-to-market product launches by collaborating closely with the product, growth, and integrated marketing teams on content and campaign development. Continuously bring launch learnings back to the product team to inform product development and improve on execution through testing and iterating. 
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Be a business and strategic partner to the product team by connecting with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment in prioritization, goal setting, planning and execution. Connect stakeholder partners including Product, Brand, Marketing, Sales, and more. Embody our core values and uphold our unique company culture. Requirements

  • 3+ years of B2B or B2C product, portfolio, or audience marketing
  • Team player first and foremost, and believe great things come from collaboration
  • Storyteller who is able to translate complex technical concepts into customer-friendly language and concise value propositions
  • Proven success bringing complex projects and initiatives to market 
  • Able to drive qualitative and quantitative research and analysis, synthesize actionable insights, and present clear recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, visual), both for internal audiences and customer-facing messaging
