We’re looking for an experienced Product Marketing Manager to join our team.

The Position
We're looking for a passionate candidate with experience in product marketing and GTM strategy. This position requires experience with product launch planning, product positioning, persona development, and market, industry, and competitive research. The candidate should also have a background in developing detailed creative briefs that will be used to produce marketing campaigns, website copy, video scripts, case studies, sales collateral, sales presentations, and sales tools. 
You will report to the Senior Product Marketing Manager (SPMM) and work closely with our Marketing, Product, Sales, and Customer Success teams to expand and optimize our GTM strategy for product launches.  Additionally, you will enable the Sales, Launch, and Customer Success teams with collateral and tools to drive new revenue and customer retention. The ideal candidate will be a high-achieving individual contributor who is willing to guide the GTM strategy for new products and features. 

This is an exciting opportunity for the right product marketer to optimize and support processes to successfully position HappyCo products as the leading solution in property management and residential property asset valuation.

This role is a 100% remote position; however, in order to effectively collaborate with Australian product team members, candidates located within the Pacific time zone are preferred. Travel expectations: <20%.

Week by Week

During your first 1-2 weeks you will:

  • Get to know our leadership, culture, and values
  • Complete our HappyCo orientation and onboarding program
  • Onboard with the Marketing and Product teams and learn everyone’s roles and responsibilities
  • Familiarize yourself with our systems and tools
  • Read our favorite industry primers
  • Attend your first Company Wide Meeting and Product Update Meetings (rotating bi-weekly)
  • Attend weekly team meetings

During your first 3-12 weeks you will:

  • Get acquainted with the different departments including Sales, Customer Success, and Product/Design/Engineering
  • Get up to speed on current campaigns and marketing initiatives
  • Participate in weekly team meetings
  • Review a minimum of 3 Gong calls weekly to broaden understanding of our customer needs and competitive advantages
  • Meet with assigned Product teams to understand product release roadmap
  • Set initial priorities with your manager and get aligned on expectations
  • Assist with process creation and documentation to support product marketing function

During your first 3-12 months you will:

  • Work closely with our Marketing, Product, Design, Sales and Customer Success teams to develop the launch plan for new products and features
  • Work closely with our SPMM, Sales and Customer Success team to develop the internal and external communications (for employees, customers, prospects, and partners) and drive cross-functional execution of product announcements across all channels: marketing and CS email communications, in-app, social channels, website, etc.
  • Develop the product positioning and messaging hierarchy for new products to effectively differentiate our products from competitors and alternative solutions in the marketplace
  • Collaborate with SPMM, Product and Design teams to stay up-to-date on the latest market, industry, and competitive research to highlight key advantages and craft the pricing strategy
  • Enable our Sales team with effective sales tools by developing detailed creative briefs to guide the production of customer- and sales-facing content that successfully accelerates the sales cycle. This includes product datasheets, product sales decks, white papers, battle cards, pricing sheets, competitor reports, etc.  
  • Facilitate internal training sessions to share product knowledge, market research, and customer persona insights

What you could expect day-to-day:

  • Ongoing product marketing initiatives to advance awareness, drive pipeline and win revenue
  • Consistent measurement of campaigns to determine when adjustments are necessary
  • Constant learning of multifamily industry, competitive landscape, and prospect/customer needs via independent research and Gong call reviews
  • Cross-functional communication via Slack, Asana and email 
  • Weekly meetings with the Marketing and Product teams and 1:1 meetings with key stakeholders
  • Occasional pivots based on customer demands, prospect opportunities and/or company needs

What we think you need to be successful:

  • 5+ years marketing experience with 3+ years in product marketing
  • Experience in GTM strategy, product launch planning, persona development, and market, industry and competitive research
  • Expertise in creating product positioning, feature messaging, website copy, video scripts, case studies, sales collateral, sales presentations and sales tools   
  • Data-driven, highly motivated marketer who is inspired to outperform KPIs and obsessively reports on marketing performance and optimizes programs based on results
  • Team player who works cross-functionally with respect, efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment across multiple time zones (US and AUS) that requires effective asynchronous communication

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience supporting the product marketing function for a multifamily B2B SaaS company with stellar results
  • Experience creating and hosting webinars for new product and feature launches that provide viewer confidence to effectively address pain points; and working with our customer success team, decide the cadence, topics, production and hosts for product webinars outside the launch cycle
