The role
Our overall company vision is to build the world’s bank payment network and we are looking for an individual to help us join the dots between a fantastic product and huge growth potential in a growing market. Make no mistake, we are building a category and we intend to own it. We need someone with the right mix of talent and experience to help us with this.
Reporting into the Head of Commercial Strategy for our Global Growth Group your role will sit alongside our Commercial Strategy, Product Development, Marketing and Sales teams, whose mission is to build powerful products that merchants want to buy and use. Product Marketing plays a crucial role in helping our product development teams understand the payment challenges of our customers of today, and what we need to do in order to win the customers of tomorrow.
This role will focus on three key areas:
- Develop a deep understanding of our customers through qualitative and quantitative research and market research in order to inform effective and impactful business decisions
- Help bring new products and features to market, and ensure we do this in a way that drives maximum adoption
- Work cross-functionally to ensure that our GTM arm has the right data points, messaging, positioning, and resources they need to drive growth
What excites you
- Work cross functionally to develop and execute strategies in order to expand GoCardless’s self-serve SMB base
- Driving customer research in collaboration with Product, Marketing and Partnerships and delivering actionable insights that help drive growth globally (and especially in France)
- Deeply understand our customer pain points, needs as well as the wider market and competitive landscape in order to craft compelling positioning and messaging across key markets
- Partnering with Customer Acquisition and Lifecycle Marketing teams to deliver campaigns with positioning, messaging and proof points that drive customer conversion
- Ensuring our front-line teams, may it be Marketing, Affiliates or Partnerships, have the right tools and compelling collateral at hand to successfully articulate the value of GoCardless to new partners, affiliates or customers
- Developing and leading the execution of go-to-market plans for upcoming product launches and experiments
- Collaborating with diverse teams and be comfortable engaging with stakeholders across the business

We’re looking for candidates who demonstrate the following skills and experiences:
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong quantitative analytical skills, with a track record of extracting insights from data and turning them into actionable strategies to help drive messaging, targeting, and GTM decisions.
- Customer Focus: Proven ability to uncover customer pain points and motivations through primary research, and translate these insights into compelling propositions.
- Market Analysis: Proficient in conducting competitive and market analysis in order to develop a point of view on the market and identify opportunities to enhance the product offering and adapt our market positioning for success
- Go-to-Market Execution: Expertise in planning and executing GTM strategies that span the entire funnel, from awareness to adoption and retention.
- Enablement: A strategic approach to frontline team enablement, ensuring teams have the tools and insights needed to articulate value effectively. Also, the ability to deliver impactful training and resources that drive engagement without overwhelming teams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience partnering with product, engineering, sales, marketing, and partnerships to execute initiatives that solve customer problems and drive growth. A proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders with varying priorities and perspectives.
- Prioritisation and Impact: A data-driven and structured approach to identifying and prioritising initiatives that drive the highest impact. Demonstrated success in driving activations, adoption, and other key business metrics.
- Communication and Presentation: Fluent French speaker and excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with confidence presenting to senior leadership and frontline teams.
Salary range: €68,800 - €103,200
Base salary ranges are based on role, job level, location, and market data. Please note that whilst we strive to offer competitive compensation, our approach is to pay between the minimum and the mid-point of the pay range until performance can be assessed in role. Offers will take into account level of experience, interview assessment, budgets and parity between you and fellow employees at GoCardless doing similar work.
