About the Product Marketing Manager, Budgeting & Planning role:

This role will be responsible for growing the OpenGov Budgeting & Planning suite in partnership with Product and teams across our Go-To-Market organization. As Product Marketing Manager, you will be part of a fast-paced, growth-oriented marketing organization, enabling our front-line teams with masterful storytelling, content creation, competitive intelligence, enablement, and tools. In addition, you will partner with our Product Management team to drive the company’s product strategy in the Budgeting and Financial planning category - a critical part of OpenGov’s overall ERP vision.

Product Marketing Manager, Budgeting & Planning Responsibilities:

Generate go-to-market messaging and positioning to inform content, effective sales and marketing, and overarching GTM strategy
Define market size, segments, and target audience for your product
Research public sector market dynamics, including pains, priorities, news, legislation, customers, in-house sales, product, and customer 
Document persona and buying office behaviors to inform GTM teams and campaigns
Generate company slide decks, product and process one-pagers, field enablement materials, training and other marketing videos, among other key content.
Research and inform on competitive trends that can aid company strategy, positioning, lead generation, sales guidance, and roadmap
Work with a cross-functional team to generate and execute against internal and external launch plans for new features, products, and offers.
Develop pricing and packaging strategy with cross-functional teams, generate and update internal/external documentation with Field Operations and Business Development teams.

Requirements and Preferred Experience:

A proven storyteller capable of taking complex technical features and concepts and threading them together to articulate a differentiated product offering
Ability to communicate and drive adoption of this story and related concepts across various GTM teams 
Passionate about marketing mission-driven technology to the public sector market
Self-motivated, creative, results driven, solution oriented, direct, and strong ability to execute on multiple priorities at once
Ability to remain focused and flexible during rapid change and competing priorities
Documented ability to produce high-quality content at scale; ability to share high-quality content/deliverables created in prior roles
Capable of conducting sound market research and synthesizing into practical insights for use in company, product, and marketing strategies
Ability to hold financial, initiative-based, and budget related conversations with government executives and other market stakeholders
Acute self-awareness and desire to grow within an organization, personally and professionally
Proven marketing experience in SaaS B2B, government, finance, or accounting software is ideal
5 years of successful experience marketing technology with documented results in a fast-paced environment 
Minimum of BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
Excellent references (recent and relevant)
