Job Description

What’s it all about?

The Product Function is responsible for creating and building a world class cross-border payments solution, supporting a portfolio of products and adding sustainable value to the business. This role will be responsible gathering and analysing business requirements and supporting development teams evaluate and prioritise backlogs. This may include:

  • Supporting the development of the product strategy (or network product strategy), go-to-market plans, and product design documents
  • Defining and maintaining the Visa Payments limited product roadmap and vision in-line with portfolio strategic objectives and themes
  • Building, prioritising and maintaining program backlogs
  • Evaluates and provides updates on product roadmap delivery progress
  • Coordinating a team of Product Owners and providing ongoing guidance and knowledge transfer to less tenured Product Owners

What we expect of you, day to day.

This role will report to the Director, Product Lead and is responsible for turning the product vision, strategy and design into reality. This position requires an experienced Product Manager with deep payments experience and a proven ability to get things done and shall:

  • Defining and Maintaining the product roadmap and vision: Responsible for communicating the roadmap vision to the teams and managing changes to the product vision or product roadmap based on the portfolio’s strategic themes
  • Analyse problems and challenges of global cross-border payments
  • Evaluate stakeholder feedback and work with other Product managers to address concerns and identify opportunities for improvement and enhancement
  • Responsible for defining the product roadmap per quarter and providing updates on progress
  • Provide recommendations for product (or network strategy) and associated roadmap based on business, market need and performance through analysis of new product features
  • Ensure continuous improvement across the product (or Network Integration) portfolio to support revenue targets and forecasted profits with a focus on client and customer experience
  • Support the transformation of product ideas into actionable concepts, timelines, and projects whilst considering the financial implications, marketing needs, and the overall objectives of Visa Payments Limited
  • Create epics and features to support the evolution and evaluation of new products or network products: Collation of business requirements (or Network Partner related services) to define the features
  • Support the flow and prioritisation of work through the program Kanban
  • Participate in feature prioritisation: Present the vision to the teams, highlight any upcoming milestones and approve prioritised quarterly objectives
  • Create release plans and maintain continuous release calendar
  • Work with IT, Ops and readiness teams to ensure product features and services are successfully launched to customers (either internal or external)
  • Evaluate stakeholder feedback and work with other Product managers to address concerns and identify opportunities for improvement and enhancement
  • Accept feature as done by ensuring they meet the acceptance criteria and has sufficient acceptance tests
  • Support the evaluation of new product or network product features by creating and improving product KPIs.
  • Produce reports to summarise performance of Product or network integration supporting features.
  • Manage a team of product owners, helps to coordinate on dependency items and ensures prioritisation of features and stories is in line with the vision and objectives
  • Validate teams appropriately balance allocation of resources according to the agreed guardrails

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate strong capability in Agile product management techniques and practices to ensure delivery of high quality and innovative product offerings.
  • Mid-level experience in payment industry, FX, cross border payments, SWIFT payments, ACH payments, ISO20022, global instant payments schemes.
  • Mid-level solid but proven experience and understanding of Product Management discipline and e2e product development lifecycle
  • Excellent planning, problem solving, organisation, analytical and issue resolution skills
  • Demonstratable in-depth knowledge and experience of cross border payment schemes and standards, payment processing technologies and regulations.
  • Proven experience working in an Agile methodology environment (e.g. SCRUM, DSDM, Lean/Kanban).
  • Strong customer-facing or externally facing communication skills and technical aptitude.
  • Confident working with limited direction, usually within a complex and evolving environment, to drive delivery of solutions while influencing cultural change.
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with management ideas and recommendations for optimising business operations
  • Organizational and leadership abilities to influence, negotiate and drive results
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to resolve scheduling and other conflicts in order to meet all deadlines.
  • Great intellectual agility and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across different disciplines both written and oral.
  • Ability to forge good working relationships with key stakeholders and functional teams across Visa and Visa Payment Limited
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise own and Team’s workload to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Ability to embrace change and ambiguity in an ecosystem that is rapidly evolving.
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management and ability to execute on multiple concurrent deliverables
  • Ability to analyse large transactional data sets, interpret ambiguous situations, and make decisions under pressure
  • Strong knowledge of MS-Office products for Windows including Word, Excel, Visio, and SharePoint.
  • Experience using various toolsets specifically Jira and Confluence
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships and work collaboratively with and delivering through others
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize information and make clear, concise recommendations on a course of action
  • Excellent skills in drafting presentations, reports, communications, and other deliverables
