About us
Valence is building the world’s most powerful chemistry engine, unlocking new therapeutic options for previously intractable diseases.
Valence is spun out of Mila, the world’s largest deep learning research institute, and we maintain close ties with world class scientists such as Prof. Yoshua Bengio, who we count among our scientific advisors. You can find a subset of our work in top journals and conferences such as NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, and ACS.
We’ve developed the world’s only AI technologies for low/no data drug design, allowing us to very efficiently transfer existing knowledge of drug-target interactions to new regions of biological and chemical space, even in situations where data may be small, sparse, or nonexistent.
We believe that every new medicine will soon be designed and optimized using AI, unlocking faster iteration and ultimately more efficacious medicines for a broader and more diverse set of patients. Valence is building the platform to make this future a reality.

Experience working in an Agile environment, either in the biotech industry or other research-driven setting
Experience in managing software development projects for both internal and external use
Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and delivery

Proven ability to engage across multiple functional areas, including engineering, R&D, design, and business in a constructive and collaborative manner
In addition to the above, candidates for this role likely also have some combination of:
Advanced degree(s) in a biomedical or technical field
Ability to communicate ideas visually with modern tools such as Figma and Lucidchart
Familiarity with and/or prior exposure to the drug discovery process
Experience in cheminformatics and/or machine learning product development
Past experience at an AI-driven drug discovery company
What we offer at Valence:
The opportunity to work at the cutting-edge of AI-enabled drug design
An innovation-driven culture that puts science at the forefront of everything we do
A dynamic, diverse, and inclusive team of experienced and interdisciplinary scientists applying their skills to some of the most impactful problems in human health
