Upshot is the preeminent company providing appraisal services for NFT and unique digital assets. Leveraging cutting-edge machine learning and blockchain technology, Upshot’s price-discovery protocol is collusion-resistant and truly decentralized. Our product creates a broad new frontier of NFT markets, enabling an entirely new class of financial primitives.

We are a team of crypto-natives and ML experts, with deep experience working on some of the leading projects in Web3, and backed by the foremost funds and angels in crypto. At Upshot, we are committed to nurturing top talent looking to make an impact at the forefront of this new frontier.

As an Upshot Product Manager, you will be working with our users, developers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure that we are focused on solving the most pressing problems with our product and addressing the most pressing opportunities to unlock product value. A great fit for this role will be someone who is passionate about the NFT/ DeFi space, evaluates problems deeply, prioritizes work effectively, maintains strong stakeholder relationships through communication and reliability, is actively curious, has great soft-skills as well as technical chops, demonstrates both commitment and flexibility, and empathizes thoroughly with our users.

The person we hire for this role will be responsible for scaling the Upshot product suite to the next level. You will be expected to holistically own specific user problems or goals, be a self-starter, and actively contribute to making the product and the company the best it can be.

Responsibilities

  • Creating well-scoped, well-documented Product Specs to serve as clear references for work that developers take on
  • Actively planning upcoming sprints that account for necessary progress towards roadmap initiatives, developer bandwidth, and other factors
  • Making use of data and analytics to inform product decisions, including tracking success criteria for new features we launch and designing dashboards from which we can extract product insights
  • Conducting and summarizing user research in the form of user interviews, surveys, monitoring of customer feedback channels and session data
  • Working closely with developers and engineering leadership to ensure new product initiatives have been de-risked from an engineering perspective and scoped down to the highest-impact, lowest-effort solution to the problem
  • Iterating over design concepts with our designers based upon findings from user interviews
  • Ensuring we maintain a high bar for quality in the work that we ship by remaining attentive to high-severity bugs and ensuring our bug triaging system is running smoothly
  • Curating our backlog to ensure we are scoring new ideas accurately for effort and impact, in order to shortlist those tasks with the most outsized return on engineering bandwidth
  • Caring deeply about building a best-in-class product

Desired Experience

  • Experience launching at least 5 separate products and/or features
  • Experience launching a greenfield product
  • Experience working with 10+ engineers as the sole product manager
  • Experience with agile and scrum methodologies, including experience administering sprint planning meetings, stand-ups and retrospectives
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A technical background or fluency with engineering concepts in order to clearly communicate product needs to engineers
  • Comfort collaborating and communicating with developers at various levels of seniority to ensure product requirements are met
  • Experience conducting user interviews and translating insights from those sessions into feature ideation
  • The ability to abstract away complexity, both in the context of feature scope and in creating intuitive experiences for our users
  • Experience developing a product roadmap at an early-stage or growth-stage startup, and tracking progress towards those initiatives
  • Experience moving new feature ideas effectively and expediently through an entire product development cycle, ensuring a smooth roll-out of new work that does not introduce regressions
  • Interest in learning about new markets and business domains; Web3 knowledge is not a pre-requisite for this position, but we expect the individual hired for this role to be interested and capable of ramping up quickly on this domain
  • (Nice to have) Coding fluency or ability
  • (Nice to have) Exposure through a previous role to the Web3 ecosystem
  • (Nice to have) The ability to create simple, low-fidelity mock-ups in Figma or other design tools
