Ensuring the integrity and quality of Tripadvisor’s location data is job #1 for the Trust & Safety - Places team. We manage the backbone of Tripadvisor’s travel content: our ever-growing database of accommodations, attractions, restaurants and geographic locations. 

As a Product Manager on the Trust & Safety - Places team, you'll report directly to the Senior Product Manager. You'll be part of the team responsible for the systems and tools that define, organize, and validate our core location data, playing a critical role in ensuring every place on Tripadvisor is accurate, appropriate, and helpful for our users.

What You'll Do:

  • Write clear, detailed product specifications working closely with stakeholders to ensure all use cases are addressed.

  • Leverage quantitative data and user feedback to correctly identify products and initiatives that will solve our most critical problems.

  • Contribute to a tactical, logical roadmap that aligns with our broader trust and safety goals and define clear, measurable success criteria for your product area.

  • Work closely with engineering to deliver meaningful results, balancing quality, risk and effort. 

  • Independently acquire and use data to track outcomes, guide feature design, and measure impact. 

  • Identify and resolve complex functional, technical, or business quality challenges within your owned projects.

  • Triage bugs applying strong judgment in prioritization, taking into account stakeholder needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.

  • Engage with key stakeholders across the organization, soliciting input and driving alignment. You will tailor your communication style to different audiences, sharing knowledge and insights freely to ensure everyone is moving in the same direction.

  • Identify and coordinate sourcing for new POI data.

Skills & Experience:

  • Data-Fluent: You are comfortable diving deep into data to uncover insights and can independently identify the information needed to answer questions about product effectiveness. 

  • Strategic Thinker: You can define an aspirational future state for your product and develop a clear, logical strategy to get there.

  • Exceptional Communicator: You can express ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. You can structure your thoughts logically and tailor your message for different audiences, from technical deep dives with engineers to high-level updates for leadership.

  • Strong Collaborator: You understand how to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, balancing feedback and building consensus. You contribute to a positive team atmosphere and are always willing to help a teammate.

  • Independent and Proactive: You are a self-starter who can take a first pass at work and operate effectively with guidance from your manager.

  • Organized & Detail-Oriented: You have a proven ability to manage multiple tasks, track progress, and ensure projects are delivered efficiently and on schedule.

  • 2+ years of product management, analytics or related experience, preferably with a focus on data platforms, internal tools, or trust and safety.

  • University degree or equivalent experience required.

  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and iterative product development

  • Experience using JIRA, Confluence, SQL
