Product Manager, Technical
We are looking for a Technical Product Manager to join our Local Payments team in Singapore. In this role, you will help to expand and improve our local payment methods and be the go-to expert in the region.
You will work among other product managers, business analysts, and developers to build and lead new projects with our APAC partners. The role requires someone technical with strong communication skills to explain and share information with non-technical stakeholders (such as Account Management, Sales, Marketing, and Support teams).
Additionally, you will manage a portfolio of payment methods and will work with our partnerships team to scope the technical integration of our underlying partners. Thus, the ideal candidate thrives on a diverse role across the entire lifecycle of a product, wearing many hats to see Ayden's goals through conception, implementation, and launch.
What you’ll do
- Responsible for reviewing the technical capabilities of local payment methods. You will work closely with developers, implementation managers, and business teams to scope out our partner's technical integrations and ensure we are building the right products that suit Adyen and its merchants
- Identify what our partners have to offer, features, functionalities, their limitations and design how they would fit into Adyen’s platform
- Scoping projects from small improvements and bug fixes to large changes in infrastructure and product.
- Enable the rest of the organisation to use all aspects of the Adyen product you are managing to the maximum, by passing on your knowledge including technical (features)
- Be the driving force behind project tracking and the continual implementation of needed tasks; ensure that there is a source of truth for the tasks at hand
Who you are
- 4- 6 years of experience in a technical role, wowing prospects with technical capabilities and product design knowledge
- Experience with Web APIs and software development and testing (Java) is a must
- Previous experience managing technical projects through their whole lifecycle (from scoping to testing and go-live)
- Someone comfortable scoping and evaluating if the local payment method would fit Adyen, before jumping into meetings
- Proven record of high-performance managing complex initiatives. A strong understanding of the importance of data, providing actionable insights and tracking the success of those initiatives
- Exceptional people skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with all levels of management, both inside and outside of Adyen
- Able to communicate in a simple way complex integration problems. with an engineer, product managers, commercial teams; tailoring messaging based on the audience
- Comfortable facilitating workshops and design sessions and can balance technical with business goals
- Passionate about new technologies and have a basic understanding of the following topics:
- Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL/NoSQL
- API Design: REST, RPC, AsyncAPI, security (OAuth2…), idempotency
- Cloud or distributed computing: AWS/Azure/GCP, streaming, replication
- Unix systems
- Encryption standards
- Experience in payments is a plus
