Product Manager - Storage Engines

The MongoDB Storage Engines team builds the storage technology at the core of the MongoDB database. The team is primarily based in Sydney, Australia, with additional team members on the east and west coast of North America.

This role can be based out of our Seattle, San Francisco, or Palo Alto offices, or remotely in the US west coast.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to the right product decisions working with multiple internal engineering and product teams, and with customers and prospects
• Help the team manage and prioritize projects including customer requests, tech debt, and project initiatives
• Drive collaboration across engineering, design, marketing, sales, and executive leadership, and be a link between the Sydney and NYC teams
• Advocate for our customers with a passion for durability, security, performance, and usability
• Bring a passion for careful data analysis to inform decisions
• Work with field teams, as well as with customers directly, to appropriately map out customer use cases and requirements

Requirements

• 3+ years of product management or equivalent experience with a complex technical product
• Ability to communicate complex technical issues simply and convincingly to a wide range of audiences
• Ability to travel multiple times per year to meet with teams in Sydney, New York, and elsewhere as needed
• Experience and demonstrated success in delivering software products to market, while navigating both strategic vision and tactical details
• Ability to write, defend, and execute business cases
• Domain knowledge in at least one of the following: cloud technologies, database systems, storage technologies
• B.Sc. in a Computer Science preferred or equivalent work experience, M.Sc. or Ph.D. in the relevant domain a plus
• Take an active role in innovation
