Product Manager - Speed

At Wise, we believe that money should be able to move around the world instantly. Right now, that's true for 50% of our transfers, which means we still have 50% of our mission left to complete. We want you to lead the team that will help to achieve this mission.

We’re looking for a Product Manager or a Senior Product Manager to join the Speed Team in our London office. This role is a unique opportunity to have an impact on a high profile pillar of Wise’s mission, grow as a product leader and help make it easier for people to send money around the world instantly.

Your mission:

Wise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders. We know that the faster our customers can send and receive money, the happier they are. Your mission will be to help make more transfers move around the world instantly.

Here’s how you’ll be contributing to the Wise mission

You'll be responsible for helping speed up customers' transfers, and ensuring that they always know where their money is.

This means you'll work on:

  • Identifying and delivering improvements to our payment rails to help speed up transfers and improve reliability, from small optimisations to new integrations
  • Improving the ways we communicate where our customers' money is, and making any delays as painless as possible
  • Championing the value of speed with other teams at Wise, and helping them to identify opportunities to improve performance within their domains
  • Making trade offs between speed, price, engineering capacity and other considerations. You'll need to understand when speed matters, and why

As Speed is one of our Mission Pillars, you'll also be responsible for communicating progress back to customers and the company at our mission check ins - whether that's our quarterly customer-facing updates or our biannual all-company events.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Choose your path to impact - we believe people are most empowered when they can act autonomously. So rather than telling you what to do, you’ll work with your team to create a vision of your own. Of course, you can always gather feedback from smart, curious people across Wise but you’ll have the freedom to make your own calls
  • Grow as a leader - Build your team and inspire them to join our mission
  • Be an integral part of our mission to make money without borders the new normal, by upholding one of our key mission pillars

About you:

  • You'll have solid experience of leading a product team and delivering high quality customer experiences.
  • You're able to quickly grasp complex problems, and communicate them to different groups of people (whether that's engineers, finance or our customers) in a way which gets them engaged with the problem.
  • You're able to prioritise between improving customer experience and our technical infrastructure, backing up your decisions with quantitative and qualitative data.
  • You're able to understand the fundamentals of how a system is designed, and work with engineers to identify how it could be improved.
  • You're a confident communicator, whether it's written (for our mission update) or spoken (at our all-company mission days).

We’re people without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We want to work with the best people, no matter their background. So if you’re passionate about learning new things and keen to join our mission, you’ll fit right in.

Also, where and what you studied isn’t important to us. If you’ve got great experience, the right skills for the role and you’re great at articulating your thinking, we’d like to hear from you.

And because we believe that diverse teams build better products, we’d especially love to hear from you if you’re from an under-represented demographic.
