Product Manager, Rentals (Fleet)

At Lyft, our mission is to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation. To do this, we start with our own community by creating an open, inclusive, and diverse organization.

Lyft Rentals is a new product on the Lyft platform which allows users to seamlessly rent a car for weekend getaways, business travel and errands. This product is a critical piece of Lyft’s multi-modal offering and has been growing at a rapid clip. Our mission is to build an industry leading rental car experience through innovations in both the digital and physical space.

Our tech teams are solving the most challenging technical and human problems in the industry with all of the data, technologies, and methodologies enabled by Lyft’s scale. We are looking for an entrepreneurial, customer obsessed, and passionate Product Manager to innovate and execute from our San Francisco headquarters.

The Rentals Product Manager will focus on improving our core in-app booking experience. This entails everything from crafting a Search strategy so our users can easily find what they need as our rental locations grow, to continuing to improve our booking flow making renting a car as easy as calling a Lyft.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Rentals leadership to set a compelling vision for Booking Flow Experience
  • Continually optimize each part of the reservation flow, driving experiments to test into the best performing experience. This will touch everything from the homescreen to price display and checkout
  • Build a search experience that is user and context-aware while being adaptive to dynamic business and user goals. Building a quality search experience is critical as we are scaling our offering to many more locations and vehicles
  • Ensure our Rentals product sits seamlessly within Lyft’s broader offering of modes. You will partner with and influence the roadmaps of multiple other Lyft product teams including Rider Experience, Growth, and more
  • Lead and align cross functional partners and teams: engineers, designers, analysts, marketers, business partners and operations to drive a shared vision
  • Partner with and influence the roadmaps of multiple other Lyft product teams including Fleet Platform, Rider Experience, Growth, and more.
  • Communicate clearly roadmaps, priorities, experiments and decisions across a wide spectrum of audiences from partner teams to executive levels

Experience:

  • 5+ years in Product Management
  • Experience working on a consumer focused product with a real passion for creating amazing consumer experiences
  • Experience on an early stage product, building marketplaces or working within the travel industry is a plus (especially Search and/or Ranking systems)
  • Natural ability to make things happen around you. You manage project ambiguity, complexity and interdependencies in an organized and structured way. Be able to define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products
  • Excellent judgment and thoughtfulness in making strategic product decision with imperfect data
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, subject to rapid change and innovation
  • Experience collating both quantitative and qualitative data to help reach decisions
  • A strong leader, able to effectively influence cross-functionally
  • Confident in decision-making, providing concise, clear, direct communication at all levels (up to executive)
  • Strong ability to work with full autonomy and little direct oversight
  • Experience working with distributed teams preferred
  • Active participant in Lyft's culture; enthusiasm about Lyft and aligned with Lyft’s core values

Benefits:

  • Great medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • Mental health benefits
  • Family building benefits
  • In addition to 12 observed holidays, salaried team members have unlimited paid time off, hourly team members have 15 days paid time off
  • 401(k) plan to help save for your future
  • 18 weeks of paid parental leave. Biological, adoptive, and foster parents are all eligible
