Waymo's Product Management Team is a mission-driven team responsible for writing and enacting first-of-their-kind playbooks to bring fully autonomous driving technology to market. Our team develops simple solutions for complex problems by orchestrating cross-functional efforts to safely drive Waymo's technology and the products it enables forward. We do this by understanding the customer, the business, and the technology. We are humble about the scope of our work, collaborative in our approach to problem-solving, and ambitious about our vision for the future.
In this role you'll:
- Setting the vision and strategy for a group of 20+ engineers and becoming the champion for your vision within the rest of the company
- Examining AV behavior from a mix of real world, synthetic, and simulated events
- Conducting root cause analysis and conferring with partners in Engineering to propose viable solutions
- Negotiate with PM counterparts in other areas of the organization to garner support for new initiatives
- Planning out execution milestones with TPM partners that allow for intermediate checkins against a set of objectives
- Developing a long-term roadmap for your area that drives towards Waymo’s overall objectives and communicating vision, strategy, priority, and risk to executives
At a minimum, we'd like you to have:
- 3 years PM experience
- Experience balancing priorities across a complex set of priorities and engineering teams
- Experience working on AV, Robotics, or products that utilize Machine Learning or AI
- Technical fluency in Perception or related field
It's preferred if you have:
- 5 years PM experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or previous experience working as an Engineer
- Experience working with Perception models
- Experience training and releasing Large Foundational Models
- Expertise in SQL
The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
