📍London or Remote (UK) | 💰 £75,000 to £100,000 + Benefits | A week in the life of a Product Manager

About us:

We’re here to make money work for everyone and we're doing things differently. For too long, banking has been obtuse, complex and opaque.

We want to change that and build a bank with everyone, for everyone. Our amazing community suggests features, test the app and give us constant feedback so we can build something everyone loves.

We're focused on solving problems, rather than selling financial products. We want to make the world a better place and change people's lives through Monzo.

About the Savings and Investments team:

This is Monzo's newest team. We are focussed on building out savings and investment products for our 8 million (and growing!) users.

We are a small and nimble team with a real sense of ownership. Our mission is to help customers grow their money in line with their financial goals. We do this by providing the right products for our customers to put their money into and education on how to make the best use of them.

What you’ll work on

  • You will lead a multidisciplinary team to launch and scale Monzo’s pensions products, giving you the opportunity to help millions of our users achieve a better retirement
  • You will be focussed on understanding key customer pain points and problems when it comes to retirement, ensuring the team has clear goals and objectives, empowering the team to make decisions quickly and making sure those decisions are executed successfully.
  • You will be responsible for defining a long term product strategy for our pensions proposition
  • You will collaborate with and influence stakeholders across Monzo (e.g. other product teams, company leadership, finance, marketing, compliance, legal, regulatory affairs) as well as key external partners to achieve the best outcomes for our pensions customers

You should apply if:

  • You’ve got extensive experience of shipping world class, customer-centric digital products in a fast growing company
  • You have the urge and resilience to continuously challenge the status quo and make things better
  • You can systematically break down and solve complex problems when there isn’t one clear ‘right answer’
  • You’re data driven, passionate about metrics, and intellectually honest about how your work is performing, and driven to continuously improve it
  • You’re full of novel ideas and creative solutions, and able to tease them out of others too
  • You have the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively to a wide range of audiences, and in a structured way
  • You can work effectively with a diverse range of people and working styles to get stuff done, and are able to thoughtfully and constructively challenge and influence the people you work with
  • You’re a fast learner, humble and curious, and enjoy developing yourself and others
  • What we’re doing here at Monzo excites you!

The interview process:

Our interview process involves 3 main stages:

  • Recruiter Call (30 mins) - Once you apply, one of our Recruiters will reach out to you for an introductory conversation.
  • Initial Chat (45 mins) - This will be an introductory conversation with the hiring manager for this role. We would love for you to do a short presentation on a project that you have led, ideally from inception to delivery, as a Product Leader where you have had to achieve multiple competing and often opposing objectives, for example build a near frictionless customer experience while mitigating risk
  • Product Loop (~3 hours) - This stage consists of 3 separate interviews that usually happen across 1-2 days. This will be made up of a Project Walkthrough, Case Study and a Leadership interview. If you get through to this stage, your Recruiter will have a 20-minute chat with you beforehand to help you get ready and prepare for this stage.

Our average process takes around 3-4 weeks but we will always work around your availability. You will have the chance to speak to our recruitment team at various points during your process but if you do have any specific questions ahead of this please contact us on [email protected]
