Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the most trusted driver. Since its start as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, Waymo has focused on building the Waymo Driver—The World's Most Experienced Driver™—to improve access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo One, a fully autonomous ride-hailing service, and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over one million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving tens of millions of miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 13+ U.S. states.

Waymo’s Product Management Team is a mission-driven team responsible for writing and enacting first-of-their-kind playbooks to bring fully autonomous driving technology to market. Our team develops simple solutions for complex problems by orchestrating cross-functional efforts to safely drive Waymo’s technology and the products it enables forward. We do this by understanding the customer, the business, and the technology. We are humble about the scope of our work, collaborative in our approach to problem-solving, and ambitious about our vision for the future.

This role follows a hybrid or remote work schedule and reports to a Senior Director of Product Management.

You will:

  • Define, develop, and launch products that expand Waymo's ability to serve trips with partners, enabling broader access to Waymo technology for more people and markets
  • Collaborate with external partners to jointly build great Waymo experiences on 3rd party platforms
  • Translate company-level objectives and B2B + end-customer needs to team-level outcomes and build a product roadmap to achieve those outcomes, backed by data and comprehensive industry understanding
  • Lead cross-functional efforts across engineering, business, operations, regulatory, etc. to drive product decisions from conception to launch

You have:

  • 5+ years Product Management experience
  • Demonstrated success in an innovative, fast-paced environment, characterized by excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, a growth mindset for product exploration, and navigating ambiguity with a strong sense of independence
  • A well-rounded mix of product development skills (e.g. user experience, analytics, engineering depth) combined with strong product sense and exemplary execution
  • Strong technical foundation. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of the hardware and software systems underpinning our autonomous vehicles and naturally thrive working with world-class software engineers
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with and influence a wide variety of audiences through exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills

We prefer:

  • Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or previous experience working as an engineer)
  • Strong data analysis skills (SQL, etc) with the aptitude to dive deep to investigate issues and extract insights to inform product decisions
  • Experience working in a B2B2C space with external B2B partners
  • Domain knowledge across the transportation, mobility, and/or autonomous vehicle industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of transportation business dynamics

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel domestically as needed
  • Ability to travel internationally ~1x per year
