Role Description

About you

As a Product Manager, Mobile at Swell, you're eager to rebuild the ecommerce stack for the next generation of experience-driven brands. You're driven to collaborate on our roadmap to develop a deep understanding of the mobile needs of our merchants and what tools can be created to solve their problems.

You are thorough, analytical when solving problems, and have the ability to observe and think critically. As part of the Swell team, you're a flexible team player who can communicate effectively especially as it relates to working closely with our leadership team and the Head of Product, Platform.

You communicate clearly, with empathy, and consider yourself to be a proactive self-starter. You have experience working in a remote-first environment and are genuinely excited to learn about our globally distributed team as well as the ecommerce and headless commerce landscape.

What you'll do

• Manage and drive Swell's mobile strategy. Mobile apps and tools are a big priority for us to solidify Swell as the leading headless ecommerce platform.
• Build and manage mobile apps and tools that answer the needs of our customers. You will own the end-to-end product lifecycle for all things mobile.
• Collaborate closely with our cross-functional team from customer-facing team members, to our go-to-market team and leadership team. You will also involve other stakeholders across the company and are able to prioritize accordingly.
• Write detailed product specs to be delivered to engineering.
• Deeply understand our users and the problems they face.
• Create a process to streamline integrations development.
• Drive customer-driven decisions, clear prioritization, and efficient execution in the face of ambiguity and complexity.
• Build processes that will scale as our team and company grow.
• Empower your team by providing context, setting direction, and building alignment.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of Product Management experience, building and managing mobile apps.
• Proven track record of taking ownership, taking initiative, to deliver results.
• Technically minded and detail-oriented: you have a strong product sense and feel comfortable sharing opinions on design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a talent for precise articulations of customer problems.
• Creative product-thinker who loves collaborating and can lead product development across engineering, marketing, design, and sales.
• Experience managing technical software products from the tie they kick-off to the time they ship.
• You are scrappy and willing to go the extra mile to make your product and team successful: whether that means writing a QA plan or hunting down the root cause of a user’s frustration.
• You have a good sense of humor —we take work seriously but don't take ourselves too seriously.
• You consider yourself a lifelong learner, have a low-ego mindset and have a genuine interest in building Swell.
