Who we are & why we’re hiring

Twilio powers real-time business communications and data solutions that help companies and developers worldwide build better applications and customer experiences.

Although we're headquartered in San Francisco, we're on a journey to becoming a globally antiracist company that supports diversity, equity & inclusion wherever we do business. We employ thousands of Twilions worldwide, and we're looking for more builders, creators, and visionaries to help fuel our growth momentum.

About the job

Twilio Segment is growing rapidly and seeking a Product Manager to be a key leader in the data deletion space. It is one of our strategic focus areas for the next several years within the Storage pillar at Segment. With the ever increasing emphasis on ensuring we are compliant with GDPR and CCPA requirements, our customers have come to expect deletion of large volumes of their customer’s data with relatively short notice. This role will help build systems that can handle huge volumes of data deletions that will ensure our customers comply with local and international data protection laws.

Responsibilities

In this role,

  • You will define the product vision and strategy for the data deletions team
  • You will work across multiple stakeholder groups including engineering, product, legal, customer service, customer success, account management and executive teams and build consensus and drive actionable next steps.
  • You will create product roadmap from conception to launch, driving product vision, and defining go-to-market strategy and leading design discussions
  • You will work closely with product and engineering leadership across the org to clearly understand cross team dependencies and come up with concrete execution plans that will help meet our customer needs while balancing the realities of shipping highly complex software across multiple teams.
  • You will work closely with data analytics team to identify and quantify success criteria for all your products and features
  • You will work closely with research and design teams to ensure thorough understanding of customer pain points and identifying highest priorities across our broad customer base.

Qualifications

Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. Twilio values diverse experiences in other industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. While having “desired” qualifications make for a strong candidate, we encourage applicants with alternative experiences to also apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!

Required:

  • 4+ years of product management and/or experience managing complex technical products
  • Strong product sense and have demonstrated experience synthesizing large sets of information into clean, easy to understand and actionable product requirements
  • Experience brainstorming vague ideas and turning them into concrete specs working with engineering and design teams
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Good at dealing with ambiguity and clearly synthesizing actionable next steps
  • Bias for action
  • Ability to dive deep and get into the weeds while maintaining the ability to zoom out and think big picture.

Desired:

  • Relevant experience handling data deletions at scale

Location

This role can be remote, and based in the USA or it can be based in one of our offices throughout the US.
