Product Manager - L2 Blockchain effort

Creating the Status’ L2 App Chain will involve coordinating work with multiple internal Status and Logos teams, as well as forming partnerships and coordinating work with many external 3rd party orgs. You will be responsible for delivery timelines and budget.

To launch this new L2 blockchain in a reasonable timeframe, Status will be forming a deep partnership with an existing L2 rollup project.  Status’s Nimbus team will adapt and contribute Nimbus products for use in context of this L2 rollup stack as part of this partnership.  DevOps will be handled by Status’s Infra team. Partnerships to support this new L2 blockchain will need to be formed with bridges, RPC endpoint providers, blockchain explorers, fiat to crypto gateways, etc.. to name some 3rd party infrastructure that will need to be in place prior to launch.

The successful candidate will have good business and project management acumen, and will be comfortable and at home discussing all the aspects of Ethereum compatible L2 blockchains with everybody from core client developers to 3rd party infrastructure providers to the marketing team and Status’ community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and then lead the delivery of a new L2 blockchain, including consideration of timelines, risks and budget 
• Assist with setting up and then managing strategic relationships with 3rd party infrastructure partners like RPC endpoint providers, bridges, fiat to crypto gateways, block explorers, etc…
• Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate their contributions needed for this product e.g. Adaption of Nimbus client software to support Status Chain, work with Infra team to help coordinate all infrastructure setup, and work with Status client teams on app integration.
• Drive the comms and marketing of Status’ L2 App Chain with assistance from the Logos Comms and Marketing team and the Status Design team
• Successfully launch Status’ new L2 App Chain, and then sustain the chain while focusing on growing it’s adoption.   

You ideally will have

• Extensive experience in, and passion for, blockchain technology.

• Have performed a similar role previously, or held similar responsibilities to some (but not necessarily all) of the ‘Key responsibilities’ listed above. 
• You are a natural coordinator, and love collaborating and communicating with other teams and people.
• A strong understanding of all aspects of how blockchains work.

Bonus points if

• Comfortable working remotely and asynchronously
• A passion for the Ethereum ecosystem and community
• Experience working for an open source organization.

Compensation

We are happy to pay in any mix of fiat/crypto (negotiable, dependent on how we assess your skills and experience throughout our interview process.

Status is looking to hire a key individual to lead Status’ new L2 App Chain product.  In this role you will hold end-to-end responsibility for all aspects of Status’ L2 App Chain; from elaborating the initial concept into a comprehensive product proposal and project plan, to ensuring the execution of all tasks needed to create and launch this new L2 blockchain, and then leading adoption growth and subsequent enhancements post-launch.
