About the job

Twilio is looking for a Product Manager to build the future of conversational messaging as part of the Advanced Communications Platform. The products you build will help customers scale and deploy new interactive messaging experiences worldwide. In this role, you will develop deep expertise regarding the future of rich communications on WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Google Business Messages, RCS, Apple Business Chat, and other new channels.  Working side-by-side with other product managers and engineering counterparts, you will collaborate to craft and deliver on the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Advanced Communications at Twilio.

Responsibilities

As a Product Manager, you will live the Twilio Magic values:

  • WRITE IT DOWN: Produce requirements to drive the execution of new roadmap features with engineering, design, and operations counterparts.
  • DRAW THE OWL: Be the leading expert on our customers’ needs, understanding what and how they are building, where they get stuck, and what technology will make their jobs easier. 
  • BE AN OWNER & BE BOLD: Lead the execution of a rapidly evolving roadmap and deliver value for customers with innovative product offerings.
  • EMPOWER OTHERS: Work across Twilio teams to share knowledge, train team members, and improve internal processes.
  • NO SHENANIGANS: Clearly communicate product performance and roadmap progress to leadership.

Required:

  • 2+ years in product management at a fast-paced company. You have hustle and know how to knock down barriers to achieve your objectives.
  • You are curious, collaborative, humble, and empathetic.
  • You are a strategic thinker and thrive when operating with a broad scope. You are comfortable leading product management from conception through continuous operation of 24x7 services.
  • You have solved complex problems and have the aptitude to navigate uncharted waters.
  • Skilled at determining customer requirements from multiple sources and translating them into objectives for engineering and design to deliver.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work with distributed, cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing products at various stages of maturity, from legacy to greenfield.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.  

Desired:

  • Superb communication skills. You're equally at home presenting on stage to an audience of developers as you are coming up with product requirements. Your best days are the ones where you do both on the same day.
  • Technically savvy. Experience with APIs, enterprise software, and messaging is a plus. 

Location

This role will be located in our San Francisco, CA office.

  • The estimated pay range for this role, based in Colorado, is $109.276 - $136.595.
  • Sales Commission: Additionally, this role is eligible to earn commissions and eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.
  • Non-Sales: Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state. This role is also eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
