Who we are & why we’re hiring

Twilio powers real-time business communications and data solutions that help companies and developers worldwide build better applications and customer experiences.

Although we're headquartered in San Francisco, we're on a journey to becoming a globally antiracist company that supports diversity, equity & inclusion wherever we do business. We employ thousands of Twilions worldwide, and we're looking for more builders, creators, and visionaries to help fuel our growth momentum.

About the job

This position is needed to extend Twilio’s platform to German customers. You will be the voice of the customer across R&D, influencing roadmaps, building key measures, and working cross-functionally to make German customers successful. This position is critical in supporting Twilio’s international expansion and will work alongside other product managers, engineering counterparts and customers.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Own the roadmap for localising Twilio’s products for Germany across the portfolio. Be able to communicate both the business and technical rationale behind your product decisions.

  • Create the international personas for the product team, understand the customer journeys, and identify opportunities to level up customer satisfaction.

  • Work with globally distributed teams in sales, marketing, product, support, and business intelligence. Make sure we are hearing from a diverse set of stakeholders and customers.

  • Interview and engage directly with German customers and sales opportunities.

  • Create the reports and presentations that can effectively communicate customer requirements and opportunities at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. Twilio values diverse experiences in other industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. While having “desired” qualifications make for a strong candidate, we encourage applicants with alternative experiences to also apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!

Required:

  • 4+ years in product management.

  • Experience building and shipping products to customers outside of North America.

  • Experience talking to customers, understanding their problems and synthesizing the findings to inform product strategy.

  • Strong analytical skills and preference for making data driven decisions.

  • Great communication skills. You are equally comfortable in working level conversations with technical folks; and presenting in front of management or non-technical audiences.

  • German language professional proficiency.

Desired:

  • Ability to influence product teams that are from different business units and geographically distributed. Drive product design and requirements across multiple product roadmaps and scrum teams.

  • Curiosity and drive to challenge status quo and assumptions.

  • Excel/Sheets and some SQL expertise. The best product managers make data driven decisions by synthesizing multiple data sources, making judgement calls on reliability and drawing signals from noise.

  • Have a bias for action & a willingness to experiment with different approaches.

  • Technically savvy and experience with the cloud, APIs, communications, enterprise software, devices, and mobility is a plus.

  • Proficiency in other European languages.

Location

This role will be remote, and based in Germany.

What We Offer

Twilio thinks big. Do you?

We like to solve problems, take initiative, pitch in when needed, and are always up for trying new things. That's why we seek out colleagues who embody our values — something we call Twilio Magic.
