Trainline is an innovative, tech business with a mission to bring together the world’s rail, coach and other travel services into one simple experience. We aim to make travel easier and more accessible, encouraging people to make more environmentally sustainable travel choices. We’re hugely proud to be the world’s leading independent rail and coach travel platform and rank among the highest-rated travel and ticketing apps globally. Today, we offer our customers travel to thousands of destinations in and across 45 countries in Europe and beyond. That’s more than £3.7 billion in ticket sales annually, and over 90 million visits to our apps and websites each month. In another major milestone, Trainline listed on the London Stock Exchange in June 2019 and is now part of the FTSE 250.
Our culture is central to our success. We’re driven to sustain our phenomenal growth from recent years, and this means we’re always working closely and collaboratively to turn our ideas into reality. It’s this sense of pace, innovating and improving pretty much everything we do, that makes Trainline so exciting and unique - we truly believe our work has a genuine impact and will change travel for the better.

The Role:
To support our ambitious commercial goals, we’re expanding our world-class Product division, led by Dave Price (a seasoned Product leader in Digital, Travel & Technology) to drive the next stage of our development. In this newly created role, you’ll be working in an Agile cluster alongside Architects, Product Researchers, Data Scientists and Engineers to help us revolutionise the travel experience and develop a market leading product and features. The goals are ambitious and the mandate is clear – to make travel more personal.

We’re obsessed with delivering value to our customers day-to-day. Trainline’s Platform One supports all our customer propositions across B2C, Branded Business Travel, B2B Distribution, TOC (Train Operating Company) Partner Solutions and Supply Integrations, on multiple channels including Web, App, external APIs, and agent tooling for both in-house customer support and external B2B customers.

As Product Manager, International Supply, you will be driving and challenging the integration within Platform One in Europe. You'll take ownership of 2 squads within the “Connections” team. We currently have 17 live connections to different vendors supporting over 250 carriers across Europe with our key focus on growth markets France, Italy, Germany, and Spain. The teams connect with vendor APIs to integrate with operations for search, reserve, purchase, fulfil, refund and exchange to shield the rest of Trainline from the complexity created by multiple suppliers.

This is an integral backbone in the Trainline ecosystem also supporting finance activities such as reporting, VAT and settlement and are core enablers to creating the world's #1 rail platform and driving our purpose to empower greener travel choices.

We work at speed shipping new products every fortnight and employ a ‘build/test/learn’ mentality around our product development. To this end, you’ll proactively seek out and solve the toughest problems we’re told can’t be done, and delivering game-changing solutions for our customers. This is a truly career defining role for someone passionate about product management looking for an opportunity to disrupt and define a product that will change the way people travel impacting millions of people every day.

Experience
We’re looking for creative big thinkers with small egos to achieve our ambitious plans. Most importantly, you’ll bring strong product management experience from a complex, consumer-focused business ideally across B2C and B2B settings. We have a preference for candidates who have had exposure of ecommerce services from a digital environment although this is not essential. Your passion for building amazing products that people love within a fast-paced environment goes without saying, and you should have a meaningful tale to tell about spotting and executing on opportunities whether to delight the user or for commercial gain.

You’ll be used to putting yourself in the role of the customer and gathering insights to truly understand what value looks like to our users (as well as those who are not!). Looking across your expertise within the product eco-system, your credentials around helping shape customer experience through research and user testing is essential. You must also bring experience of working closely within an Agile development team prioritizing work and setting sprint goals as appropriate.

You’ll understand the importance of making robust data-driven decisions and will bring a good balance of quantitative and qualitative skills as well as a track record of working with rapid, iterative “customer led” design and development processes. Further, working from inception through to testing and deployment, you will be used to measuring and communicating the outcomes of developments to allow the business to learn from both success and failure.
