Hello, we're UW.

We’re a bunch of great people working together, solving problems and having fun. Together, we strive to find solutions to help the great people around us get on with the things that really matter in life.

How? It’s simple, we take the headache out of essential home services by providing them all in one place – energy, broadband, mobile, and even insurance.  That’s one provider, one account, one bill, and lots of savings.

We’re a truly unique FTSE 250 company with a business model that has real social impact at the heart of it. Being a part of the UW community you’ll join a working environment like no other - one where everyone matters - be it our customers, our partners or you, our people.

About the role

This role is in our insurance team - helping UW customers to look after what’s most important to them in their homes.

We are UW’s newest service area. In the past 3 years we have laid a strong foundation: becoming FCA authorised, setting up a ring-fenced product, engineering and operations team, and launching three products. We offer Buildings & Contents Insurance, Boiler Cover, and Bill Protector (which covers your UW bill if you can’t work).

We are really proud of our insurance products. They are five star rated and well loved by the customers who take them (annual retention rates are typically 90%+) - we just wish more customers knew about them!

We need a data-driven product manager who will help deliver a step-change in growth. There is more to this than just conversion optimization. The insurance team also looks after the underlying policy platform, so you will need the technical chops to ensure that we are set up for scale. In fact, we believe that leveraging our unique and proprietary customer data can provide a pricing advantage.

What you'll do

  • Taking an experimental and data-driven approach to deliver policy growth.
  • Setting our insurance platform up for scale, enabling us to leverage our customer data to deliver price optimisations as well as a reliable customer experience.
  • Working very closely with Engineers, UX Design, Marketing and Data, and others, as part of a cross-functional product team.
  • Leading the onboarding of new insurers to sit behind our insurance policies.
  • Involving key stakeholders across the business to drive collaboration and ensure alignment of priorities and approach.
  • Working with data and UX research to improve understanding of customers, their behaviour and what exactly they value in our products.
  • Defining the outcomes we're trying to achieve alongside owning, measuring and sharing key product metrics, impacts and learnings.

About you

  • are excited about the prospect of disrupting the insurance industry
  • are outcome not delivery-focussed and seek out information you need to be so
  • have a passion for experimentation and journey optimisation
  • have experience and passion for analysing data and user experience
  • are commercially-minded and understand trade-offs of value
  • have hands-on experience with agile software development
  • develop ideas and solutions based on real insight, shape them and guide them through to brilliant execution.
  • obsess over the details but also love to paint a bigger picture
  • know your strengths, and recognise there's always more to learn
  • are an empathetic team player who collaborates closely with others
  • embrace iteration and are comfortable with change

What’s it in for you

Join a high growth FTSE 250 business and help us deliver our growth ambitions whilst learning and having fun. Become part of a fantastic business culture where people really are at the heart of everything we do.
