Stripe builds the economic infrastructure for the internet, helping it grow its GDP. Making it easy for everyone to participate in the internet economy is a foundational pillar of contributing to this mission. The identity organization is responsible for enabling Stripe to welcome more users around the world to use Stripe’s services and for keeping fraudsters and other bad actors out.

As part of the Identity Platform team, you will play a critical role in enabling Stripe’s growth via developing key platform infrastructure to assess and verify identities across the world. This will involve leading the development of identity verification capabilities for internal and external users, expand Stripe Identity Graph’s accuracy, coverage, and freshness, and enable the rest of Stripe to expand into new geographies, products and services quickly, easily and fraud-free.

You will:

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for Stripe’s Identity Platform, including our first-party technologies, third-party partnerships and capabilities, and the identity graph
  • Collaborate closely with legal, engineering, design, data science, and operations
  • Partner with Stripe’s business teams on product and geographic expansion initiatives, enabling Stripe’s growth while mitigating risk
  • Serve as a thought leader and change maker for supporting and driving inventive solutions to the toughest identity and fraud challenges that impact the internet economy

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • 5+ years in Product Management, with experience in building platform products and in serving both internal and external customers / stakeholders
  • Experience managing technical software products from kick-off to ship
  • Consistent track record of leading ambitious and ambiguous 0-to-1 projects
  • Strong stakeholder management including navigating difficult situations, negotiating timelines, and influencing internal and external stakeholders across organizations and borders
  • Strong executive communications skills - you can summarize and express complex requirements in an accessible and precise manner
  • (nice to have) Preferably managed graph platforms or graph-based products

What’s it like to work at Stripe?

Stripe is helping the internet fulfill its potential as a platform for economic progress by building software tools that accelerate global economic access and technological development. Stripe makes it easy to start, run and scale an internet business from anywhere in the world.

We look at Stripe as a constant work in progress and the same is true of our people; for all of us, we believe the best is yet to come. We’re here to support each other in our curiosity and creativity – which we pursue through thoughtful discussion and knowledge-sharing among a diverse set of peers and colleagues.

We want to work in a company of warm, inclusive people who treat their colleagues exceptionally well. The kind of people who are committed to going out of their way to help other Stripes in the short-term and pushing them to improve over the long-term (by helping them to get better at what they do).

We’re a highly cross-functional organization and view that as part of the fun: we design our space to encourage as much collaboration as possible. We have long tables in the kitchen for a reason (to enable everyone to meet new people and learn from them). We also have a culture of transparency that we carry through to email communication, ensuring that Stripes all around the world have the information they need to make good local decisions. In both our products and our people, we aim to reflect, represent and advocate for all of our users, globally. Our users transcend geography, culture and language; what we share, collectively, is a drive to create a fairer, more economically interconnected world.
