The Expansion Platform & Experiences (EP&E) squad’s mission is to accelerate SumUp’s success by reducing time to market and creating value for merchants in those new markets by providing relevant experiences for them. Global Expansion’s two Berlin-based Engineering and Product squads are responsible for delivering all necessary adjustments to the SumUp ecosystem ahead of a new market launch. We also guarantee that small businesses in new markets are able to get the most out of our products by gathering user insights and automating the customer support flows.

We are looking for a Product Manager to join the EP&E squad as a key member of our cross-functional Tribe that delivers the necessary tools and technical framework for SumUp to launch new markets quickly and efficiently. In this role you will be setting priorities for your Squad as well as enabling cross-tribe collaboration. Find out more of what the role entails here: 

What you’ll do

  • Gather all requirements to set up SumUp in a new market including the country-specific regulatory framework, merchant needs and define the priorities in a cross-functional engineering team
  • Facilitate discussions to coordinate cross-tribe collaboration and drive resolution of issues amongst internal stakeholders (other Product Managers, their engineering teams, designers, go-to-market team, strategy team, amongst others) 
  • Collaboratively define the Global Expansion product roadmap with the other Berlin-based Engineering & Product squad 
  • Manage the development of an Expansion Platform that allows us to tackle internationalisation challenges and speed up time to market
  • Conduct user interviews and gather insights that help shape the product offering and  improve it at every new country launch

You’ll be great for this role if you

  • Have a few years of experience in product management 
  • Are strong in market research, planning and backlog management 
  • Are a clear and effective communicator and able to manage a diversity of stakeholders
  • Have outstanding project management skills
  • Naturally care about the user experience, want to understand their needs and deliver a more suitable product experience

Any of the following would be considered a plus

  • Experience in Fintech or other regulated industries that required you to meet compliance criteria in the product development process
  • Fluency in languages such as Arabic, Spanish, Japanese
