BVNK

Product Manager - Financial Crime

About us:

BVNK is a next-generation payments platform. We’re on a mission to make payments as accessible as the internet. We bridge traditional and digital finance to make payments borderless, fast, and secure. Using our platform, businesses can incorporate stablecoins into their payment flows, and send and receive payments anywhere in the world.

We are a diverse team spread across the UK, Europe, and Africa. We share the belief that distributed ledger technology presents the future of payments, and BVNK will be at the forefront of this shift. We’re looking for smart, ambitious people to help us build a more inclusive financial system.

About the role:

The BVNK suite of products empowers our customers to collect payments from their end users all over the world in both crypto and fiat, and move funds in multiple jurisdictions using local payment rails like Faster Payments and SEPA.

We are looking for a Product Manager to join the team and assist us with delivering our financial crime products, from hardening the core, over payments screening and monitoring up to building and developing AI/ML models end to end. You’ll be the bridge between engineering and our financial crime architects, working to build proactive compliance into our products from day one.

Our product and engineering organisation is split into small autonomous teams, which are each built to be able to execute on their own strategies independently whilst collaborating with the rest of the organisation. You’ll be a part of the financial crime team from the ground up in our platform business unit - in partnership with our regulatory compliance team you’ll build a vision and roadmap for the team.

As a Product Manager for Financial Crime, you will:

  • In collaboration with Compliance, Legal, Banking and Data teams develop and execute the product strategy for combating financial crime, including money laundering, fraud, terrorist financing, and other illicit activities within the crypto payments industry.
  • Conduct market research & competitor analysis, follow industry trends, and regulatory requirements related to deliver the world class financial crime platform.
  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure that the company's products and services comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and other product managers to define product specifications, create user stories, and provide clear guidance for product development.
  • Actively work with data to monitor and analyze key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of existing products and identify areas for improvement.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to internal stakeholders on financial crime prevention strategies, processes, and technologies.
  • Contribute to our growing product led culture across the business and within the product team.

What we need from you:

  • Have experience working in a product led fintech or banking business, owning a Fincrime domain, building compliance tech into products.
  • Experience working with data scientists and leveraging their work in a Fincrime team.
  • Experience working with engineers on a day to day basis, and leading the team with context rather than authority.
  • You’re customer obsessed, always putting the customer experience first.
  • Strong collaboration skills - you’d consider yourself a “people person”, just as happy working with engineers on specific tasks as you are presenting to the company on KPIs and feature launches, gathering feedback from customers and the sales team, and generally working cross functionally across the business
  • Experience in a heavily data driven environment, using data to guide decision making at every stage of the product life cycle.
  • A passion for growth, obsessively focussing on how we can grow usage and adoption of our products.

Nice to have:

  • Experience as a compliance operations person in a past.

What you can expect from us:

  • Fair and competitive salary at every stage of your growth
  • Meaningful ownership in the business through our employee option scheme
  • Flexible working hours, with hybrid working at its heart
  • A culture built on passionate growth minded people
  • A flexible approach to holiday
  • Opportunities to travel to our offices around the world, in locations such as London and Cape Town, to collaborate with your colleagues
  • An open and creative environment where you can help us define the future of BVNK, it’s culture, and it’s opportunity sets
