At Tecton, we are on a mission to bring world-class Machine Learning to every product and customer experience. Tecton’s founders developed the first Feature Store when they created
Uber’s Michelangelo ML platform. In pursuit of bringing ML to every production application, we have since brought the leading commercial feature store to market and built the most popular open-source feature store.
We are funded by Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz and have a fast-growing team that works out of SF, NYC, and remotely. Our team has years of experience building and operating business-critical machine learning systems at leading tech companies like Uber, Google, Facebook, Airbnb, Twitter, and Quora, and we’re now bringing those same capabilities to every organization in the world.
A core part of our strategy is to build our feature store technology as open source components through Feast. Feast is increasingly becoming a core part of the modern MLOps stack, with various technology companies adopting it internally as their feature store of choice. Our vision is for Feast to become the industry standard, open source feature store that teams trust in production while providing a seamless path to our managed offering.
We’re hiring a Product Manager to build Feast into the best-in-class open source feature store. In this role, use your experience with data platforms and MLOps to envision and deliver a feature store that is powerful, intuitive, and highly extensible.
You will be involved in all stages of the product life cycle — engaging with customers directly and doing data-driven research, testing hypotheses with fast prototypes, designing features that solve real world problems, collaborating with engineers to ship new tools, and communicating changes internally and externally, to ultimately deliver a world-class product. You will explore complex and exciting technical problems, including API design, data modeling, integrations with machine learning and data quality monitoring frameworks, data versioning, and data discovery.
We are looking for an exceptional Product Manager with a deep understanding of developer workflows, open source communities and a high empathy for both data scientists and ML engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Strategize about roadmap decisions, discuss high level vision, and share insights from your experience in the data platform and machine learning space
- Autonomously drive projects to completion, and own the complete process from inception to public launch
- Collaborate closely with engineers to manage scope and maintain a healthy balance between velocity and quality for new features
- Gather user feedback and usage data to deeply understand their goals and needs, validate product assumptions, and communicate requirements
- Prioritize requests across internal and external stakeholders, and drive the engineering process to follow through on the most high-priority improvements
- Hone your understanding of the machine learning space and the needs of enterprise teams putting large scale models into production
- Promote Feast features, improvements, and thought leadership by writing blog posts and presenting at conferences
- Facilitate community discussions, engage with Feast users, and encourage new contributors
Preferred qualifications:
- 5+ years of Product Management experience
- 2+ years working with technical products for engineering audiences
- Experience in data pipelines and infrastructure, machine learning, or applied research teams
- Experience driving data-informed product strategy and roadmaps
- Experience in API design
- Positive track record of working on open source projects with large community involvement
- Experience with open-source and commercial products in the data, MLOps and cloud infrastructure space
