Product Manager, Employee Foundations

Square Staff represents a suite of labor management, payroll and communications tools that enable sellers and their teams to thrive together. The Employee Foundations product team, which sits within the Square Staff organization, provides product teams across the Square ecosystem with the building blocks they need for their sellers to set up and manage their teams with Square. This includes onboarding workflows and templates, employee activity logging and reporting, and employee/manager permissions and security. 

As a Product Manager for Employee Foundations, you will develop the strategy, set the roadmap, and determine the requirements — in collaboration with design, engineering, and analytics — to create a shared platform to support sellers and their teams. Your mission is to make it as simple to set up and manage a team of 5 as a team of 5000. You will help us identify and deliver the projects, features, and products that can have the largest impact for our existing and potential customers. You will report to the Head of Product for Square Staff.

You will: 

• Use feedback from sellers, employees and other product teams across multiple markets to improve the employee management platform to meet needs across the entire Square ecosystem.

• Work with engineering, design, and data to foster positive team dynamics

• Lead the planning, scoping, and prioritization of projects. You will outline entire roadmaps and project requirements, goals, and constraints.

• Represent the team with partners and senior company leaders to align resources and prioritization.

• Guide the creation of platform capabilities that are delightful, scalable, reliable and remarkable

• Determine features, write product and technical specs, shape system Service level agreements, organize user studies, help write test plans, manage the backlog.

• Report to the Head of Product for Square Staff.
