Platform.sh is an innovative, award-winning, and ambitious company providing a cloud hosting and development tool for web applications. We are a fully distributed scaleup in hyper-growth mode and with a global reach that spans frontiers.

We value enthusiasm, team spirit, and a constant desire to expand personal knowledge and collaborate with peers. We provide a multicultural, casual, and balanced work environment.

Mission

We’re looking for 2 Product Managers to join the Developer Experience Product Area, one  focused on the Core Developer Experience and one focused on Onboarding Developers into Platform.sh.

Core Developer Experience focuses on hosting and developing day to day using Platform.sh.  From stability and maintenance improvements that make our underlying infrastructure resilient, to ensuring our build and runtime environments have the latest language and service versions available. Core DevEx is also about running parallel activities, visualizing logs, SSHing into containers and customizing development workflows.

Onboarding Developer Experience focuses on shaping people’s initial understanding of Platform.sh, so that we provide a best onboarding experience to everyone: from self-service developers to someone joining a large team, from their 1st project to their 1’000th, from using a template, setting up a fresh new project to migrating an existing one.

Both roles will focus on providing a simple and intuitive experience to developers and area managers when creating and maintaining their websites and applications at Platform.sh; understanding the big picture and getting into the details to provide an empathetic, conversational, slick and discoverable development and onboarding experience.

About you

You’ve probably been in a technical focused role (i.e. support engineer, developer, software architect...) and you’re now keen on providing delightful user experiences.

Your strength is in being an enabler. In the first few months you will have helped coordinate delivery across teams, aligned the roadmap with technical capabilities and capacity, provided insightful overviews to various teams and worked intensely with the inner technical components of Platform.sh.

You'll work with a strong group of engineering and design partners, delivering on a roadmap so that Platform.sh becomes even more scalable, stable and joyful.

On a day-to-day basis you will work with design to research and understand our customer needs, collaborate across design and engineering to envision solutions, and then ensure that those solutions are implemented in a way that improves the customer experience. In practice, this means managing competing ideas, issues and priorities while trying to keep a good strategy framework in place and ruthlessly prioritizing against the key goals in order for the team to make progress and execute efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Help the team define its strategy, build alignment around that strategy, and enable all the teams around you to work together to deliver it
  • Focus on features that help grow our revenue,  streamline our operations and develop the KPIs and feedback loops that allow us to continuously improve those
  • Work hand in hand with engineering and design to make sure we always keep our eyes on the ball, maintaining at all times a critical path to delivering value fast
  • Work with other product managers to be sure we focus on the big-picture
  • Turn feature releases into a repeatable process that can deliver quality results time after time
  • Participate in tasks including market research, prototyping, usability testing, customer feedback loops and data analysis
  • Write key documents including: roadmap documents, feature briefs, release notes
  • Maintain the right balance between effective processes and autonomous workflows

Qualifications

  • You have 3+ years as a Product Manager in the developer tools space, as a Technical Product Manager, or similar roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional remote teams
  • Iterative mindset with a bias toward action and improvement
  • Familiarity with both design and continuous delivery methodologies
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with developer engineering workflows
  • You believe joy is in the details
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills
  • Strong experience in cloud environments, continuous integration workflows and infrastructure architecture would be a big plus
  • Flexibility to figure out the best process within each initiative and component team

This is a remote job. Work from anywhere!

We are a worldwide distributed team and are looking for a product manager who can perform well working remotely. You’ll need to be able to effectively collaborate across time zones while being given a high level of independence and autonomy.
