Spotify’s first application was for the Desktop, and alongside the desktop Web Player it remains one of the most significant platforms at Spotify! This is the Spotify experience that gives users power and control, with a large screen and the best free experience possible.

For the first time we’re growing Desktop and Web client development to the US, and are hoping to bring on a new team with an initial focus on podcasting, video, future formats, audiobooks, live audio and more! This is an exciting opportunity to build from the ground up, collaborating with teams in Sweden and helping drive Desktop and Web into the future.

As a Product Manager working in this space, you will be responsible for setting and driving a vision that brings delight to millions of users around the world. You will collaborate with many teams to make sure the Spotify experience for Desktop and Web is the best it possibly can do, consistently Spotify and tailored to the specific needs of millions of daily users. 

What You'll Do

  • Deeply understand Spotify’s mission and strategies, lead product vision for the cross-functional team, set qualitative objectives and quantitative goals.
  • Drive product development with a team of Developers and Designers.
  • Integrate exploratory user research, usability studies, and market analysis into product requirements to improve user happiness.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other areas of the business, including business development, legal, comms, and marketing to ensure product releases enhance impact.
  • Define, supervise and analyze metrics for launched products and feed takeaways back into the product development process.
  • Clearly communicate product plans, benefits and results, as appropriate, to a wide range of audiences, from internal team members to all Spotify employees as well to our partners. 

Who You Are

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager.
  • You have experience working closely with team members and partners at a global scale.
  • Detailed understanding and experience of how to express an application via product requirements.
  • You are well organized and have excellent attention to detail.
  • Driven with a collaborative approach.
  • “You don’t win unless the team wins”.
  • You have a “do-er” mentality, willing to work hands-on.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. 

Where You'll Be

  • We are a distributed workforce enabling our band members to find a work mode best for them!
  • Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the Americas region in which we have a work location and is within working hours
  • Working hours? We operate within the Eastern Standard time zone for collaboration and ask that all be located in that time zone
