Product manager - Connect orchestration and API - 1802W01

Description

As a Product Manager, you will be in charge of the user research, functional specifications and prioritization of the Connect product: a secure application for collaborative federated machine learning. Connect makes it possible to train a machine learning model across multiple data centers storing highly sensitive data (federated learning). For more details, have a look here!

You will work embedded in two squads of software engineers focusing on the backend of the product, and you will participate in the product team roadmapping and strategic work. The squads you will be embedded into are highly technical and devoted to building the backend, orchestration and API of a Federated Learning solution. Thus, you will be at the cutting edge of distributed computations software. The core users you will be considering are IT operations engineers who need to deploy our solution and (to a lesser extent) data scientists who will use our product.

You’ll report to the VP Head of Product and will work in Owkin’s Product team with other product managers focusing on other areas of our products and with UX/UI designers.

*You will be in charge of: *

Participating in product development and in particular contributing to organising interview sessions with relevant partners and writing user stories

Leading the product efforts to design a smooth and efficient user experience for IT operations engineers. This will involve both web interface, SDK and command line interface interactions. Preservation of the privacy of our partners data is paramount and will be an important part of the design constraints.

Working closely with the software engineers of the two squads to ensure the features are properly specified, prioritized, validated and delivered.

Working closely with the customers to beta test the product and ensure a smooth deployment

Contributing to customer demos of our data science products.

The position is located in Nantes or Paris. Remote work is also possible with frequent travel to the offices.

We are looking for someone with:

• Good level of experience in product management
• Deep knowledge of agile methodologies for product building and delivery.
• Good knowledge of data science concepts and practice
• Good knowledge of modern web architecture and concepts
• Ideally, experience in software development (in particular in Python, Docker, Kubernetes) as you will deal with very technical topics
• Ideally, good knowledge about Machine Learning and privacy preserving techniques.
