Bakken & Bæck is a technology-driven design studio working out of Oslo, Amsterdam, Bonn, and London. Building digital products, brands, and businesses, we help ambitious companies identify, explore and respond to new opportunities.

From defining the future home with IKEA to building decentralized platforms with Coinbase; we are in the business of breaking new grounds. As one international team across offices, we have all the skill-sets needed to help businesses adapt to an increasingly complex world.

We’re committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels comfortable, regardless of their identity, experiences, and beliefs. We want BB to be a place where you can try out new things with the risk of failing, where you can take ownership over your own work without being micromanaged, and where there’s a low barrier for coming up with ideas — no matter your job title or discipline.

Work-life balance shouldn’t be a perk, but a given. We strongly believe in flexibility, knowing that creativity doesn’t always happen between 9 and 5. At BB you’ll be given a lot of freedom, which means managing your own priorities, trying out new things, and working a flexible hours scheme.

About the job:
At BB, we define, design, and develop digital products from end to end, working as a tight-knit team across all our offices, disciplines, and differences. As a Product Manager at BB, you will ensure product quality by leading cross-functional teams through all stages of projects — from scoping and planning, all the way through to product launch.

Our ideal candidate has broad experience in consulting and/or digital agency settings. We’re building a team dedicated to product management at BB, and as an early member of this team, you will have the chance to influence how this discipline and team grows in the future.

We expect the ideal candidate to take on responsibility for the following:

Product and team ownership:
- Partner with internal stakeholders and leadership across tech, design, and strategy disciplines
- Understand and balance client requirements with design, tech, and business perspectives
- Help shape products and services to have the best possible impact, on both people and the planet
- Work with cross-functional teams(brand, strategy, tech, design, research) across several locations
- Communicate team responsibilities internally and externally, follow up on tasks, and keep the team motivated
- Develop project plans and roadmaps

Client relationship:
- Partner with clients and build trust through frequent and clear communication
- Proactively look for new opportunities within existing client relationships, and quickly scope out new work to ensure a better end product
- Manage the project status, resource schedule, scope, budget, and timeline at all times while also clearly communicating expectations between the client and BB
- Ensure the client understands the effects of design and tech choices
- Balance requirements and timing of multiple workstreams and/or projects

Process:
- Scope and plan digital development projects
- Navigate in a constantly evolving environment, and juggle multiple ongoing processes simultaneously
- Organize check-ins, debriefs, and retrospectives on different stages of a project, to make sure everyone’s voice is heard
- Assemble the team and ensure a smooth process from kick-off to launch
- Implement quality assurance throughout all stages of a project
- Adaptable to various working methods, tools, and technologies

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience leading large-scale digital projects, preferably in an agency, consultancy, tech start-up, or tech company
  • Hands-on experience in digital product management
  • Experience leading complex digital development projects
  • Experience delivering high-quality projects on schedule while maintaining scope
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build client relationships based on trust
  • Full professional proficiency in English
