Product Manager, Applied Safety

About the Team

The Applied AI team is focused on continuously deploying advanced AI systems into the world. 

In April 2022, we introduced DALL-E 2, AI that creates images from text. In 2021, we launched  Copilot, powered by Codex, in partnership with GitHub – and developers love it. In 2020 we introduced GPT-3 which the MIT Technology Review listed as one of its 10 Breakthrough Technologies of the year (alongside mRNA vaccines).

We’re a small, kind team that is shipping ambitious products (and having a lot of fun).

About the Role

We are looking for a Product Manager to lead our efforts to deploy advanced AI products in safe and responsible ways. Your work will be on the frontier of AI, ensuring we continue to be a leader in safely deploying AI technology. 

In this role, you will:

• Create the vision and strategy for Applied Safety, lead prioritization efforts, goal setting, sprint planning and execution for this critically important area of our product.
• Oversee the product work required to safely and responsibly deploy AI technologies such as DALL-E, GPT-3, and Codex.
• Lead product efforts for our Trust & Safety investments and initiatives, ensuring we can enforce our usage guidelines and policies. 
• Work closely with important stakeholders across the organization to balance competing priorities and help deliver delightful products, responsibly.

We’re looking for a blend of:

• Experience as a product manager on integrity and trust & safety teams for scaled internet products.
• Ability to make great product decisions despite ambiguity and uncertainty. 
• Ability to align people towards an objective and orchestrate complex projects.
• Eagerness to take a hands-on approach and do whatever it takes to make the product and team successful.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and experience going from 0 to 1 with technical products.
• Curiosity, determination, and kindness.
