Product Manager, Alternatives

Adyen is looking for a passionate Product Manager to bring our payment proposition for Alternative and Bank-based Payment Methods in Japan to a new standard. This includes payment methods such as PayPay, RakutenPay and more. In this role you will lead those and other payment methods to market successfully, while making sure they are scalable and align well with our current and future customer’s needs.

What you’ll do

  • You'll focus on building and scaling alternative payment methods in Japan, a key market for Adyen globally
  • You'll use your product sense to identify and take on a broad problem set where you’ll take on end to end responsibility for; solutioning and taking an approach that focuses on value, impact, and execution
  • You'll lead prioritization and planning to shape Japan’s product roadmap for Alternative and Bank-based payment methods, working closely with commercial, support, and development teams
  • You’ll speak to our Japanese and global customers, understand their challenges, prioritize solutions and collaborate with internal teams across Adyen to bring products to market successfully
  • You'll lead projects, work with engineers and are hands-on with technical work as needed

Who you are

  • You're fluent in English and Japanese, with professional experience in both languages
  • You have outstanding technical and analytical skills, and are not afraid to dive into complex, technical subjects. You can effectively collaborate with technical, including engineering, teams
  • You have 3+ years of experience in the Payments domain, are familiar with Alternative and Bank-based Payment Methods and have a point of view on how they are evolving, especially in the Japanese market
  • You have 5-7 years in Product Management for software companies and have launched and scaled products with quantifiable value
  • You're skilled in listening to customers, engineers, and partners to identify problems that Adyen can uniquely solve. And you can make decisions on what to prioritize to solve our customer’s problems
