Job Description

In support of Visa’s Data Office, the Product Management Director for Consent Management is responsible for end-to-end development of consent management products in support of our growing value-added services business. Explicit user permissions are an essential requirement for both existing and emerging use cases that interact with consumer data (e.g., identity, open banking). This role will be responsible for developing global products that enable the strong Visa standards by which consent is captured, managed, and audited between parties and developing solutions to drive adoption of these standards across the payment’s ecosystem.

This role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills to support coalition building within and outside of the organization. In addition, a successful Product Management Director would greatly benefit from experience writing both product and technical requirements as well as system specifications.

What we'll expect you to do, day to day.

  • Develop (or have) 'subject matter expertise' on Consent Management- industry standards and specifications, leading companies, platforms, associations and working groups leading the definition and rollout of these standards
  • Develop and refine Visa consent management requirements and needs across the organization, taking into account product, platform and regulatory needs in key geographies globally
  • Work internally and externally with associations and working groups to socialize the product capabilities being developed to ensure product capabilities resonate with the market, are clear and understandable to the consumer, and meet the needs and requirements of potential customers
  • Define a workflow process and adapt existing Visa processes to enable certification and adoption for program participants
  • Work collaboratively with key business partners (e.g., Account Executives, Client Services, Marketing, Global Product and Innovation, Pricing, Legal)
  • Demonstrate strong influence management skills and the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships
  • Collaborate with Visa regional product teams to ensure regional product requirements are included and integrated into the overall proposition
  • Develop and maintain product specifications and documentation for consent management related flows and product enhancements to ensure that products implementing the specification do so in a policy-compliant, consistent and seamless way
  • Translate complex product business requirements into user stories (i.e., Consent Management requirements)

This position is open in the following locations: Palo Alto, San Francisco, Foster City, Austin, Atlanta, New York, Arlington, London

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • Senior level relevant work experience and a degree in analytical or technology field such as operations research, economics, computer science or many others (graduate degree is a plus)
  • Strong knowledge in writing user stories and developing functional requirements from business ideas and concepts
  • Demonstrated success in managing end-to-end product development that meets business objectives
  • Experience working with trade associations, standards organizations as a contributor member (part of a working group that is defining, advancing a specification for a product or technical capability)
  • Relevant experience in consent management, authentication, digital identity or payments industry a plus
  • Solid cross-functional team experience with demonstrated results required
  • Must have the ability and willingness to learn

Additional information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
