Product Designer,  Consumer Trust

Job Description

Because you belong at Twilio

The Who, What, Where and Why

Twilio is growing rapidly and seeking a Product Designer to design loveable products for Twilions and customers alike on Consumer Trust products and services, with the goal of preventing fraud and abuse globally.

In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to discover, define, and design lovable products for customers.

The ideal candidate will be an advocate for our customer-informed process, an active consumer and contributor to our inclusive-by-default Design System, a partner to our UX team members in upholding our principles and standards, and a UX leader who takes a holistic, human-centered approach to design.

Who?

Twilio is seeking a Product Designer who:

  • Collaborates with product and engineering to define what makes a product loveable, design a solution, problem-solve within constraints, and evaluate trade-offs within a product roadmap. Can define scope, inform strategy, and propose creative ways to create an end-to-end experience that considers customers’ motivations and pain points.
  • Facilitates activities to empower partners to create definition in open-ended situations.
  • Has experience designing and evolving enterprise application software.
  • Has experience pairing storytelling and data to inform customer action.
  • Has an eye for visual detail, brand identity, craftsmanship, typography, color, and hierarchy. The candidate understands how each of these elements works together and how the overall visual design language contributes to an immersive experience.
  • Has a proven user-centered design workflow that comprises: design, prototyping, presentation, sharing and soliciting feedback, influencing key decision-makers, and collaborative handoffs with developers.
  • Advocates for design and research methodologies to create best-in-class customer experiences. Has experience running quantitative and qualitative research, such as usability testing, analysis, interviews, and field studies.
  • Gives and receives candid feedback, and has the ability to provide useful and constructive feedback to peers of all levels and roles.
  • Can share a portfolio with beautiful, usable, straightforward, and lovable designs that demonstrates technical product thinking and an understanding of user-centered design methodologies.
  • Advocates for appropriate application of design system styles and patterns by using standard component libraries and templates for brand and product consistency.

What?

As a Product Designer on the team, you will live our Magic Values, and be able to:

    • Be an Owner: Own and advance the user experience for Data Platform.
    • Wear the Customer’s Shoes: Engage with our developer community to understand their needs, and design products and workflows to unlock their potential. Advocates for customer research and feedback, and applies learnings back to the product. Articulates customer-centric reasoning for design decisions.
    • Write it Down: Define, design, review, test and specify interfaces, components, systems, frameworks and tools for developer experiences. Articulate the customer problem and success metrics, and gain alignment with stakeholders on your approach to testing, learning, and iterating on a solution.
    • Draw the Owl: Navigate ambiguity through a scientific approach—stating hypotheses, testing, learning and adapting.
    • Don’t Settle: Collaborate with team members and other Product Designers in elevating our standards. Contribute to design critiques to ensure coherency across Twilio products.
    • No Shenanigans + Be Inclusive: Remain open, transparent, and inclusive while sharing work at various stages of the process, proactively inviting diverse (and potentially contrary) inputs in your design process, and remaining humble while asking for and providing useful and constructive feedback to peers of all levels.
  • Ruthlessly Prioritize: Break down complex problems into manageable parts while keeping stakeholders and teammates up-to-date with progress. Advocate for yourself, your team, and the customer in identifying the correct scope for team goals.
