We’re solving EDI
At Stedi, we’re rebuilding the technological backbone of the B2B economy. Trillions of dollars flow annually through a global network of commerce via an archaic framework called EDI, but there hasn’t been a major new EDI platform in decades (you can read more about EDI here).
We make software for developers to help them build modern EDI systems. Our goal is to make software so great that all the world’s business transactions run on our rails – and users won’t know or care, because it works exactly as expected.
We have lightning in a bottle: 70+ engineers and designers working across 7 time zones in 17 countries, shipping products 24 hours a day, 6 days a week; a lean business team to support the company’s infrastructure; passion for eliminating toil and automating what we can; a culture of writing; $71 million in funding from investors like Stripe, Addition, USV, and First Round Capital.
Stedi is looking for product designers to support our team's research, design, and launch of the Stedi platform. We work in a highly technical space — it’s full of detail, interesting interaction problems, and knotty user experience challenges.
If you’re excited about building technical productivity tools, enjoy working with motivated peers, and are inspired by how great software can change the way businesses operate, we’d like to hear from you. Stedi is small and fast-paced, so our designers have a lot of flexibility in what they work on. Right now we’re looking for someone to join a team creating a complex data-mapping product, and another to evolve and maintain our design systems.
We do need some real hands-on experience in our hires but are happy to consider anyone from best-in-class intermediates to staff/principal level.
What you'll do
- Lead the end-to-end design work, from conception to delivery, for various products on the Stedi platform
- Work collaboratively with engineers and our customer team to identify and solve user, product, and business problems
- Help define strategy — understanding and articulating the product’s goals, success metrics, roadmap, and commitments
- Deliver high-quality, polished, delightful, and easy to use designs
- Design and prototype multiple ideas quickly, and connect regularly with customers to validate product directions
- Participate in weekly design collaboration sessions
- Mentor fellow designers, helping them to think more critically and strategically and improve their craft
- Articulate, negotiate and refine design requirements in collaboration with other designers and engineers to arrive at the best design solutions
Who you are
- 3+ years of design experience at a product-driven tech company
- Expert in interface design programs (we work a lot in Figma)
- Have good practical knowledge of end-to-end product design — from user research, through high fidelity design and delivery finessing
- Confident and happy working with engineers and others in cross-functional teams
- A great juggler of creative optimism and critical investigation
- Comfortable building iteratively to gather feedback
- Love the idea of owning projects end-to-end
