Starlight is based in New York, NY with an office in Flatiron. The product is built regardless where our team members are, but the magic happens when we’re in person.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Product Designer who will lead and execute the design process from beginning to end. As a founding member of our design team, you’ll leverage your instincts and data to prioritize how our users experience Starlight products and represent their voices internally. Working closely alongside Product and Engineering, you will be an integral part in shaping how we work together and what we build.

In this role, you will...

• Be an owner. You will own and drive design at Starlight, collaborating and leveraging our strong, design-focused product team when needed

• Execute on a macro and micro level. You'll work to create everything from executing design specs to leading a strategic design vision

• Build a design system. From Figma component libraries to design principles, you will lay the foundation for all processes and standards throughout the company's product and brand

• You operate with flexibility and transparency. Design vision is not your only strong suit - you are great at communicating your thought process and understanding of when it may be helpful to try a different approach

• You obsess over pixel-sized details. You pride yourself on being detail oriented and understand that the little things can be just as important as the big picture

• You make informed decisions. You own the outcomes and proactively seek research to inform design decisions

You will stand out if...

• You are marketing and brand inclined and interested in producing marketing assets (i.e. graphics, lightweight animations)

• You are interested in Web3 and Fintech, or have a strong willingness to learn about it
