About the Team:

This position offers an opportunity to work on a highly visible project where your work has a clear and direct impact on business metrics.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate for this team is self-motivated and excited about taking ownership of many aspects of the design process—from competitive analysis to development handoff. You will be working closely with a Lead Designer who will provide coaching and feedback on work and help you ramp up in the role. You will also be collaborating with product managers and engineers on the Reviews team, and seeking support from researchers and content designers as you take on projects.

Your First 90 Days

In your first 30 days, you will get acclimated to Klaviyo and our product:

  • During the first two weeks, you will be immersed in an onboarding program that introduces you to the company and the product.
  • Familiarize yourself with Klaviyo’s design system
  • Introduce yourself to everyone you will need to know in order to be successful in your role.

In your first 60 days, you will become a valuable member of the team:

  • Ramp up on the Reviews product, strategic roadmap, and establish an understanding of the competitive landscape
  • Listen to feedback from customers of Klaviyo Reviews, understanding the unique challenges of social proof in ecommerce
  • Under the mentorship of the lead designer, begin working on introductory projects to support the team’s roadmap and get to know how the team operates.

In your first 90 days, you will continue to increase your influence:

  • Establish a division of work with the lead designer
  • Begin owning projects with less oversight, delivering designs from kick-off to implementation
  • Build relationships with your cross-functional team and contribute to making the team’s processes as efficient as possible.

How You’ll Have an Impact:

  • Embody our design principles by delivering features that are fast, intuitive and inspirational
  • Collaborate with our design system team to establish new patterns of interaction, when necessary
  • Demonstrate an experimental mindset to learn quickly and iterate on solutions
  • Give, solicit, and take feedback from other designers, engineers, and product managers to continually raise our bar for quality
  • Understand and co-own the success metrics for your product area

What You’ll Need:

  • 3+ years of professional design experience
  • Ability to adapt to new information and an openness to change conclusions when necessary; if one approach doesn’t work, you’re ready to try something else
  • A portfolio of detail-oriented projects supporting the end-to-end product development cycle, from audience definition to product adoption
  • A deep understanding of the end-to-end iterative UX process, including wire-framing, prototyping, user research, and design systems
  • Experience designing for responsive web applications that scale from desktop to mobile
  • Experience designing with Figma

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in e-commerce
  • Familiarity with social proof strategies
  • Comfortable creating design prototypes to get a point across
