We are reimagining billing and invoicing for this era of hybrid pricing in software. Billing is no longer just a finance problem, but also a high-stakes engineering observability problem that customers urgently need solved. At Orb, we take a developer-first, data infrastructure approach to this problem. We make it possible for companies to fully automate their current billing process, and to evolve their monetization strategy over time.

Orb supports the end-to-end workflow for revenue: developers love our product’s extensibility and intuitive API, product managers become empowered to iterate on pricing and packaging much faster, finance teams get fine-grained reporting to facilitate revenue recognition, and customer-facing teams benefit from the transparency Orb brings to the customer relationship.

Role & impact

As the second designer on our small but growing team, you will have an outsized impact on our user experience, product direction, and team culture. Our team is thoughtful about what makes a world-class user experience and you will be involved at every stage of the process, from early customer research to final QA and pixel polish. We are committed to opinionated defaults with strong safeguards–and will look to you to help guide our users to the best outcomes.

About you

• 5+ years of professional design experience

• A strong communicator that thrives with cross-functional collaboration

• A strong portfolio that showcases the end-to-end design process, from understanding customer needs through polished visual design

• Based in the San Francisco Bay Area or willing to relocate (with support from Orb)

You might be a good addition if you:

• Have experience working on enterprise products or complex systems that balance functional delight with powerful features

• Excel at distilling complex, multi-sided workflows into intuitive user experiences

• Have a passion for systems thinking and conceptual modeling

• Have a track record of shipping products with a high standard of usability and polished visual design

• Experience working with an established design system, and excited to contribute back to the system as it evolves.
